LAMA v1.36 [k]ed screenshot
Oct 09 2012 | 9.8 MB

LAMA is the Audio Measurement Application that tells you what you do and not what to do! It is a toolbox of audio-measurement instruments that allow fast & easy setup, designed for live sound-reinforcement but also suitable for all other needs of audio-engineeering.

LAMA has source independet Transfer Measurements - simply connect your desk-output as reference signal and a microphone as measurement signal and you are ready to see frequency response and coherence - as it is source independent you can do this during your show, and see things like "what happend since soundcheck?" or "what is going on on the balcony obove me?"

The Spectrum Analyzer and Spectral History (Spectragram) instrument are used to monitor the audio-spectrum of every signal you are interested in, and of course they have various types of display -like iso-octaves or continuous- to customize the view to your personal likings.

Once calibrated, you can use the Sound Pressure Level Meter to show current SPL in different weightings and response times and also watch the LEQ and predict it. Sound Pressure Levels can also be logged and expoted into a CSV-file later for further processing in a spreadsheet-application.

Much thanks for this Horsemen! I'm learning synthesis and i think this will be an invaluable tool to watch waves generated by oscillators and filters.

Works fine on SL 10.6.8, but i need some help from an advanced user here. I had no problem in routing the sound output from any synthesizer to Lama through soundflower but then i lose the sound because Lama has no audio output, only input. Any hint on how i could hear the synthesizer sound at the same time i see the wave in the Lama's oscillator ?

My hardware: M-Audio Firewire Solo (2 Analog + 2 S/PDIF inputs/outputs)

Much thanks in advance! mates

Works great on Snow Leopard if I can only get the routing with my MOTU Traveler spdif output to line input on my mac to correctly be configured. To the manual . phones

Welcome to the Club, JLIT! mates

Doing the same here with my M-Audio FW Solo following the hints by Millenium but without so much success by now. I had success in routing internally analog audio to S/PDIF output (mixer meters move at least) but no sound in the mac line input ... Wait, may it be that line input in the mac is mono? Because i've made myself the cable using an stereo mini-jack i had and probably that's the problem!! (on the side of the card i have only a single RCA jack for the S/PDIF output and another one for the input).

Anyway, i like this kind of challenges, so let's try a mono jack and see what happens phones .

@ Fraggle83,

Simply take a look at the following links, they could perhaps simplify
your 'audio life' somehow...

'LAMA' Signal Flow

'LAMA' The Input Patch Matrix (Click on the images to the right to get
their zoomed versions)

By the way (and as I'm mainly a PC user), within my 'old' G4
(MAC OSX Tiger), the 'Line Input' is Stereo (despite is a single input), whereas the 'Mic Input' is a Mono one (a single input too).
The 'S/PDIF Output' is Stereo (despite is a single output).

As said and as you can easily guess it, my 'G4' is just an ancestor among all the 'MAC' models available nowadays, nevertheless I can only suppose that all the more recent models follow this scheme or even a more sophisticated one...
