This tool is wonderful, maybe people very further in the corners of the world decide to sample their local percussions instruments and decide to share with us.

Only them can tell us about the real usage of that instrument in their cultures.

I'm tired to have those big packs of big companies, they tell a short history about local instruments, change the names, the real purpose in music.
I know they do their best, but imagine how angry get someone in Russia when listening to a Balalaika sampled by Canadians, or someone in India listening to a Sitar sampled in Mexico.

Before anyone post a bible of information about my humble opinion, I'm just encouraging you to do, no matter what microphones you have, only you can talk about yours.
Through years I send e-mails to companies to repair fake concepts and wrong names, they ever respected my opinions and answered back, sometimes I receive Cds from them, I got entire giga packs of samples from them thanking me.

So where are you from, Arabia? Do some sample shots using Maizesoft, it's more easier you can imagine. Or if you are from India and have those wonder percussions instruments, most Indian sounds are wrong packed within Arabian packs, so you may have a wrong idea from what it comes from.

I'm very sorry, but i don't see why some russian or indian people should be angry at someone who samples any of "their" local instruments in other place of the world than "theirs"... What's the difference of a sitar being sampled in kolkata and the same instrument sampled in johannesburg ?.

On the other hand i agree with you with the rest of your post, overall about the power this kind of tools (like the one in this page) can do for us to know all the instruments human mind has created all around the world FIRST HAND.

Maybe you're not Russian or Indian.
But as we hear, things get confused by some companies.
The example is "Arabian OUd" Laud- Alaude, whatever it is, I think no one can sample all the rich passages of it. Maybe I could use the word disappointed, not angry.
But I get angry when I listen to my country instruments been sampled, since I have all them in my EARS since I born.

Perhaps i'm mistaken but i feel that you're not expressing your thoughts as you would like to (probably english is not your mother language and have some difficulty to express yourself in that language) ... Having said this i think that anybody that would read your quoted words probably will conclude that you don't like others to sample your country instruments IN ANY WAY!. But then you encourage people to sample "their" instruments and share it with all of us ...

So, as i would like to fully understand you in what you're trying to express, (and with all my respect to you) i would encourage you to take your time to fully express yourself and show me what you're trying to express in fact.

BTW, did you wanted to say "Arabian 'ud" (or "Arabian Oud") where you said "Arabian Ud" ? If it is so, it is what we here in spain call "Laud" ... and you can find also "ouds" in Greece and Cuba too (a copy of the spanish Laud but tuned in a different way)!. No need to say that all of them derive or are influenced by the Arabic Oud (which comes from?).

I'm very sorry that i can not help you by now. I've tried to install it this morning (i had not installed yet) without success. I tried with pacifist (a mac tool for install packages) and it installed but i was unable to copy over the cracked app (permission denied), which means that when you run it and click the info button it gives a "you're using an unregistered app, now this will work in demo mode" msg. So, i will try few other things to see if i can help you in the near future. Meanwhile perhaps someone here that have it already installed could help you with the serial (edweste?, Zeitgeist?).

Anyway i would like to know if some1 here has been able to install it and how.

acidf: ... Finaly i've found an "old" mac version (v2.07) by
UNION which i've been able to crack it (i'm sure that if you search for
the win version you'll find it too - i.e. google maize sampler 2.07 union)
It has a serial but you ONLY can use it with the pre-patched executable,
which means that it wont work for you ... is for that that i told you
to look for the "old" v2.07 by UNION which i'm sure you'll be able to
crack and use it if you want.
