BATTERY 4 is the cutting-edge drum sampler – the worldwide studio choice for creative beat production.

SUPERCHARGE YOUR BEATS
BATTERY 4 combines an updated library with a radically-intuitive workflow that keeps the focus on creativity. With a clear, compelling interface, BATTERY 4 launches drum sampling into the future.

LOUD LIBRARY
The 143 kits in the BATTERY 4 library focus on electronic and hip hop production. 70 cutting-edge kits join all-time BATTERY favorites reprocessed for modern production. Find your drum sound with the easy-to-use, tag-based browser, drag it into a cell, and start playing.

CELLS IN HARMONY
Setting up kits is instantaneous. Factory samples and kits load with an ultra-clear color-coding system. Load your own samples and assign them colors for instant visual recognition. Innovative drag-and-drop MIDI learn lets you assign sounds to performance controllers with uninterrupted creative flow.

SOUND WRANGLER
Working with samples has never been easier. Seven sample modes including classic sampler and groovebox emulations give you superior tonal variety. The Time Machine Pro algorithm delivers unparalleled time stretching. A gorgeous waveform display lets you adjust start and end points, volume curves, and more. And instant cell rendering allows for easy kit building and creative sound design.

EFFECTS EVERYWHERE
BATTERY 4 delivers powerful on-board effects – SOLID EQ, SOLID BUS COMP, TRANSIENT MASTER, tape saturation, LoFi, and a powerful convolution reverb. Apply them to cells, groups of cells or to the master outs. Create chains, re-order effects, and sidechain with drag-and-drop ease on four busses and the master channel.

WHEN YOU NEED MORE DRUMS...
The BATTERY 4 library is vast, but sometimes you just need that special sound. Expansions offer tailor-made kits for BATTERY 4, based on specific genres. Spend less time searching for the right kicks, snares, hi hats, percussion and FX, with drum kits made to match your style.

Finally working after almost three years of waiting for Logic users. Thx a lot. Now if anyone have any idea how to add the factory library, that would be magical!

for logic was all the last 3 years a battery version

the library has a "nicnt" file, like KONTAKT have. and you need to register this the same way like other kontakt.

you can use :

- Kontakt 5.6 it have an "add Library" button

- Kontakt Library Utility KLU

- Kontakt Terminal command

the last two tools you find here in the KONTAKT Package as add on from [HCiSO]

And the 4th option to add a Kontakt library is the use of this app (can be found on this site):
"Add Library for macOS v3.0".
Having my Kontakt libraries on an external drive, this app adds all the libraries with correct location on external drive. Very easy and quick method.

So far i did:

1. i tried tricking battery with a false ".plist" file to force him relocate the library, but it didn't work.

2. i tried to instal the original "Battery 4 factory library V1" to create a directory but it failed the instalation. Didn't work

3. i added my library with "Add Library for macOS v4 (Júnior Porciúncula found in the HCiSO k8 K'd). i can see it when launching KLU 2 but it still do not show up in battery 4.3.1. Din't work.

4. i did sudomized chmod the "installed_products" in the shared folder to be sure it have all the permissions. Didn't work.

My battery library is the same since 2013 considering the date of the ".nicnt" file.
Running Sonoma 14.7.2
Logic 11.1.2

i'm usualy pretty decent at finding a way around, but Battery 4 always gave me trouble, and it still the same apparently.

anything i missed?

The Solution to crashing of recent NI Products.

Many have experienced that the latest NI products are crashing when trying to open. It only happens to some users, and others are perfectly fine. Ain't that classic?. For those affected, It happens in all formats, with "serious program error"s, "crashed during product scan" and the like. And annoyingly all latest NI products except Maschine 3.0.x seem to be affected. This includes the latest Battery 4.3.1, Massive 1.7.0 and Massive X 1.4.5 releases as well as Kontakt 8.x.x.

Recent NI products try to write a new folder (called "installed products") with information on all NI products installed, into a write protected area of the system. Maybe it's not write protected for everyone (thus affecting some and not others). Seems to vary among macos users for whatever reason.

But the solution is to grant full access to that folder.
The easy way, open Terminal.app and write:

sudo chmod 777 /Users/Shared/Native\ Instruments

- now all the above products should work.

I'm pretty certain Native Access makes sure this is already done for legit users. Alternatively this command could be added as part of HCiSO's install script in future, if they like.

You're welcome! : )

HCiSO releases are so good. I've been wondering for years, what these great teams get in exchange for dedicating their talent and time to make these amazing programs available for us?

I give massive respect to all involved. It’s amazing something like this is even possible. I would have about 10 plug-ins, being disabled and out of work i can’t even scrounge up a gater acct.

Thanks for another great release
Mine installed with no issues, opens and runs (I guess) but no library at all
I checked the Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/ Battery 4 Folder and everything seems to be there but battery is not uploading any of it
Any hints?

Open Battery standalone, open Settings > Library > User and rescan or relocate the folder Users/Shared/Battery 4 Factory Library - then after a scan everything will come back.
RIP Olymoon

If installed correctly, the factory library should be shown under "Factory" tab, not "User" in the settings.

unfortunately this Version VST2 and VST3 of Battery 4 goes on the Blacklist on Cubase 12 and Cubase 14 :-(
If I want to reactivate it in the Plugin Manager in Cubase the DAW crashes!

I've tried the Terminal Comand but it doesn't helped, Does anybody have a solution?
