Acustica Audio Cream 2 macOS AU-ARCADiA screenshot
Team ARCADiA | macOS AU | 420.75 MB
Cream 2 is based on an iconic series of hand-built British vacuum-tubes, transistors, and solid state hardware made between the late 1950s and the early 70s. Cream offers a unique tone that stands out for its incredible warmth and tonal richness, largely thanks to the rare topology and historic components used in the original hardware.

The Cream Preamp: A Sound So Warm You Might Get Sunburned
The preamp module of Cream packs all the juice of a British transistor-based, solid state recording and mixing console from 1970 plus a classic valve tape machine from the 1960s.

Cream EQ
Cream EQ is the result of an extensive and elaborate sampling process of various hardware units, and is derived from what is arguably the most famous solid-state console of the 1960s. This marvelous example of engineering helped shape the history of music that still resonates today. Add the best features of this powerful tool to this our select collection of β€œhomebrewed” filter emulations, and you’ve got Cream EQ: the perfect mojo machine for your mixes.

The Cream Compressor
Cream's compressor emulates two different, very special hardware units. One of them was sampled from a legendary desk from the 1970s, whereas the second model is based on vintage British tube compressor from the 1960s.

This compressor particularly embodies what we would call the β€œsound of the sixties,” which is instantly recognizable from The Beatles’ records and which was the hallmark of the sonic signature of most of the recordings that came out of the legendary Abbey Road Studios.

But it's only AU though, no VST or VST3

Can you use these along the legit ones ?

yes and no. you need to have them stored on an external, so that aquarius cannot detect them. if it detects them, you are screwed, so be careful

Ok thanks, I'm not sure I'll give it a try... I'm afraid they will detect them. Is there a guide on how to install them on an external hard drive ?

so basically just copy everything over to the vst3 custom folder. you dont need to worry about the cracked framework, because you already have the framework. you just need to copy over the plugin files. however, this one is only AU, so it wouldnt work anyways.

It's really not recommended to run them alongside each other unfortunately. Is it possible, yes. But if you want to keep using all your legit Acustica then you'll want to use only those, and none of the releases on this site. However, a majority of Acustica plugins (probably 60-70% currently) are available on this site. So if you only own a couple, and weigh your options, then it may be worthwhile to make the switch to R2R-only. Not to mention you'll be saving yourself many Gigabytes worth of disk space.

The reason AA was exposed was because they created huge bloated products nearly 10GB like this one which is really 500MB, and in addition to this they where caught remotely spying on customers as they would do randomly,

so ext or not if you have all the products available and a 10th the size why would you run legit versions?

I think the only product I have yet to see online is Purple and one more., everything else is up for grabs

there are many more not available besides purple and one more.

the releases are not the full version of the plugins, they are trial versions. missing sample rates , and sometimes containing bugs not in the releases.

updates.

--Drag all files and the large CREAM2 folder into Components. Keep the Components window open in Finder.

--Open Terminal and type in this:

function prep() {
sudo xattr -cr "$1"
sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine "$1"
sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - "$1"
}

--Press enter and type in your password if needed

--For each .component, type "prep " and then drag in the .component file to the Terminal window from your Finder window. Press enter. It should say "replacing signature" each time. If it doesn't say this, you may need to prep it a second time (but this doesn't USUALLY happen).

--Once all components are codesigned, you're good to go

It's important that you have the right framework installed (from the 28.11.2023 posting, just search "acustica framework" and it should be the first result)

I haven't installed any of the Acustica plugins before.
I have installed the framework just now.
When you say drag all the files you mean everything contained in the Acustica Audio Cream 2 macOS AU-ARCADiA folder including the !COMMON folder, component files, XLM and N2S files?
Basically everything we can see that's within the downloaded folder?

Move all 20 items into Components folder. THEN bring in everything from INSIDE the common folder (4 skins and the CREAM2 folder as a whole). It may ask you to replace the 4 skin files, just say yes.

So in the end you will have 20 new files and 1 new folder in Components. And then you can trash the empty COMMON folder.

Thanks, that was it.
I got both Tiger and cream working this way.
I actually used Permissions Reset instead of the terminal commands but it did the job the same.
Taking the files out of the commons folder and into the components folder was what I hadn't done right before.

I cannot get this to work. Followed all steps but not sure the correct sequence. Plugins do not show up in Logic 11. Logic does not even scan them. Tiger works well. If you have this working, please share when in the process you replaced the .N25S files.

For me the Cream plugins show up, but are unauthorized, even after doing a deep codesign on every component. Tiger also works fine for me.
