macOS | 10 March 2024 | 177 MB
The finest in analog sounds
Ultra Analog performs as a unique and powerful synth that is fast, easy, and remarkably versatile.

WHAT’S NEW
We have streamlined Ultra Analog and brought it to a whole new level.

NEW Home view
With macros mapped to key sound characteristics—modulation, timbre, envelope, and effect—the Home view presents a distraction free and laidback browsing and tweaking experience.

NEW Two-Voice Multitimbral
Ultra Analog VA‑3 combines two independent timbres—stacked or split—to create performance-friendly, texture-full, and spacious sounds that are sure to make a good impression.

NEW Factory Library
Ultra Analog VA‑3 ships with a completely new factory library of 560 sounds created by top sound designers. Richard Devine, Christian Halten, Jerry Kovarsky, Christian Laffitte, Niall McCallum, Adam Pietruszko, Thiago Pinheiro, Daniel Stawczyk, and Emeric Zubar form an incredible team that made the most of the latest Ultra Analog VA‑3 features. It’s with great pride that we present these new signature sounds.

REMASTERED VA-2 Legacy Library
A long and fastidious process of fine-tuning went down in the AAS quarters. Each and every sound of the legacy Ultra Analog VA‑2 library went under the eyes of the members of our team members and came out with a consistent gain-stage, unity-gain effects, better dynamics, and compelling real-time sound transformation assignments to take advantage of the new features of Ultra Analog VA‑3. That’s an extra 648 solid sounds in your hands.

NEW Browser
With Packs, Sounds, Categories, and Creators views, Ultra Analog VA‑3’s brand-new browser offers an efficient way to home in on the sounds you’re looking for.

NEW Macros
Ultra Analog VA‑3 now boasts four performance macros per layer that respond to user-defined MIDI controls. Each and every sound features modulation, timbre, envelope, and effect morphing assignments that can be played in real time for enhanced expressivity and sonic dimension.

IMPROVED Filter’s Musicality
Ultra Analog VA‑3’s filters can now put up with extreme modulation while remaining totally musical.

NEW Ladder Filter
Ultra Analog VA‑3’s multi-mode module now stars a brand-new ladder-type filter for that classic low-pass response.

IMPROVED Microtonal tunings via Scala scale files
Ultra Analog VA‑3 now supports the Scala scale file format as well as reference note frequency tuning for microtonal music making.

NEAT Compatible with Ultra Analog VA‑2 sounds
Simply copy Ultra Analog VA‑2 banks in UUltra Analog VA‑3’s packs folder to convert them.

EXPANDED Multi-Effects Module
Ultra Analog VA‑3’s multi-effects module now sports reverb, equalizer, compressor, tremolo, and guitar amplifier processors for even more completeness. Furthermore, the five effect slots can be re-arranged in any order.

VST3 is not patched but it works somehow...
Please be aware

Reckon the VST3 is piggybacking the stuff done in application support/VST version. Not personally concerned. It looks like it's the way it tricks authorisation. I was surprised as well but VST itself doesn't show/work in Ableton.. only AU and VST3.

Can't be patched with included install note. Intel Mac OS Ventura.

what's wrong with install note? Could not you follow it?

Almost stoped hoping to ever see new AAS stuff here. Thanks GonBi and/or whoever genius mind did this. This is something special.

This is pretty damn nice sounding. Almost walked on by as I have far too many synths but this one is inspiring. Didn't realise AAS also produce some of the Ableton synths. Call me stupid but had never heard of this. M1 Ventura and ableton 12 cruising with this one.

Install and run after patch, but no sound... MacOS Sonoma. I installed a free trial version of this previously, which could be the cause of the no-sound problem.

Does sound like your trial is screwing things. If you don't already have it... "Find Any File" app is excellent and free/shareware. Search for "Applied Acoustics" and/or "Ultra Analog" using that... then carefully delete the files that are scattered throughout your deeper system files. That usually rids you of the old debris. Just be careful not to delete any system files. Manually vet each found file. If unsure, don't delete it. If it's clearly Applied Acoustics or Ultra Analog bin it.
Then reinstall/try again. Usually does the trick. Someone else on Audioz once upon a time recommended that app. Has been a godsend.

Thanks for the tip; I wasn't aware of the "Find Any File" app. This is a golden app for a warez junkie such as myself.

Thanks, brother. It's working now after using the "Find Any File" app specifically to delete all previous files, reboot, reinstall, and replace them with new k'd files.

It is likely that the problem is having installed the demo version, I tried to search and delete the responsible file but without success

Anyone else not getting any sound?
The settings are showing the correct output. The midi light flashes in the plugin but the LED light does not as well as no sound. I can see the factory library and the VA-2 library.

You did replace AU, VST, Application Support, Application files with the ones provided right? Then followed the 3 commands against each of these including the .bundle & the VST buried within said application support located .bundle? Just wondering perhaps you skipped any steps. I did the fully monty. Make sure you aren't trying to skip because for e.g. you don't need the VST just AU. Haven't trialed in Logic yet but check the above.

Yeah, I even tried several times. I had a previous trial install so I wonder if there is a file somewhere causing that. I’ve tried removing the library files then reinstalling but no luck! All other AAS work with no problems whatsoever...

Ok, the "no sound" problem fixed for those that had a previous install and experienced no sound issue. Thanks to sirprancealot’s recommendation of "Find Any File" app!! I first used another free app “Plugin Uninstaller” by Wide Blue Sound to uninstall 'Ultra Analog VA-3' which reduced the number of files found within FAF app from 2,440 to 19 files. You can then delete those within the FAF app with the exception of 4 files. It’s ok, the app will not be able to delete due to permissions and it is not necessary!
Reinstall "Ultra Analog VA-3" per instructions and sound problem fixed!

Now, it's running great on M1- Native - Sonoma, w/ sound on all plugs and app. Just touch everything+, w/the scripts. like sirprancelot said.
Thanks Gonbi and @sirprancelot

The same here - Intel Sonoma 14.1.2 - after all the operations described with Terminal I see the midi signal but there is no audio. Please some advice

Same here. Everything looks right and works, but there is no audio. The o

There are files in the /Users/User/Library/Application\ Support/Applied\ Acoustics\ Systems/Ultra\ Analog\ VA-3, which I have tried deleting and re-installing, but that changes nothing.

Use the "Find Any File" app (https://findanyfile.app/) specifically to delete all previous files, reboot, reinstall, and replace them with new k'd files. No codesigning or anything else was necessary to fix the no audio issue.

I also succeeded, in a different way "find any file" didn't work for me. Remove the app and all related data.
Step 1 Uninstall the application.
Step 2 Delete all residual data left by the application.
Delete any residual data left behind by the application. When you uninstall an application on your Mac, only the program itself is deleted. Some data created by the application (including trial data) may remain on your computer until you manually delete it. To check and delete these files:
Open the "Finder" and click on the Go menu;
Hold down the option key to view hidden menu items;
Click on Library from the drop-down menu;
Search for files and folders that contain the name of the program you want to reset, then remove them by dragging them to the trash;
These files may be located in the root user's Library, as well as the following subfolders:
/Library/Application Support
/Library/Caches
/Library/Logs
/Library/Cookies
/Library/Containers
Library/Preferences
/Library/Saved Application State.
By deleting all files containing Ultra analog VA-3 and applied-acoustics I was able to reset the trial period
