VST/AU | May 25, 2020 | 942,72 MB
Massive X is Native Instruments’ new flagship synth, built by the same team as its predecessor. Based on a state of the art architecture, it delivers pristine sound, and huge creative flexibility for artists and sound designers alike – allowing them to create, modulate, and experiment with sound from a huge range of sources, in any way they like.

Release Notes:
1.3.0 — 2020-05-19
• MASSIVE X is only available as AAX, AU, VST Plug-ins in this version. MASSIVE X
requires an AVX compatible CPU to install and run. The MASSIVE X Factory Library is
a separate installation, be sure to install via NATIVE ACCESS.
• ADDED Parameter Readouts: Values are now shown below/above the parameters, including
macro parameters
• ADDED Custom Noise Samples: External samples in various file formats and sample rates
can now be loaded into the Noise section
• ADDED Embedded Noise Samples: Custom noise sample/-s that are saved with the preset
are embedded into the preset file
• ADDED Noise One Shot mode: In one shot mode noise samples are only played once. One
shot mode can be accessed through the Voice section in the Noise generator drop-down
menu
• ADDED Noise Keytracking mode: Added an option to the Noise section to enable
keytracking for sample playback
• ADDED 50 new Noise Samples (25 Loops and 25 One Shots)
• FIXED Massive X crashed on instantiating in Logic Pro X 10.5

• FIXED Massive X was indicating some presets as modified (with asterisk) when no
changes were made
• FIXED Colors of Noise & Wavetables headers in the menus in Dark Mode
• KNOWN ISSUE FL Studio 20.5 VST: when loading a preset the interface will shrink. Fix:
update to FL Studio 20.6 or higher
• KNOWN ISSUE Cubase and Studio One: text input does not work correctly when Massive X
is hosted in Komplete Kontrol or Maschine KPI view
• KNOWN ISSUE When dropping a preset on to the Massive X GUI, the preset will load in
all instances of the plugin

how to get a cpu without avx these day? it's not a new tech,
and about the avx, it supports faster processing on floats, that mean you can get better sound quality(or just noises), because of the more details and realtime computing/playback like the chip(yes it's a chip), soft synth lacks of these but hardware can achieving that easily.

Don't know how the others but in general I like the change or the update, upgrade but for Massive. After trying the Massive X I keep using the old version. I don't like MX interface at all. Design Ok. absolutely not handy for me. just my point.

Did anyone get this to work without crashing in Ableton Live 10?

It seems to work okay until I install the presets and then it crashes immediately when I select a preset. Building sounds from scratch seems to work in Mojave 10.14.6 + Ableton Live 10. It really sounds great for "big" sounds like in dubstep etc. I can't get the same results as easily with other synths

crash as well
logic 10.4.4

I finally fixed it,
firstly install the demo version via Native Access
open your DAW and make sure the demo version works fine
then install this unclocked version
enjoy it

On LPX 10.5.1, Mojave, the app works fine, only if, the library is not installed. Otherwise, it crashes miserably no matter whether you decide to install the library in the default location, or somewhere else in a given disk.

Edit:
I think there is a some sort of bug in com.native-instruments.Massive X Factory Library.plist

And if you install the library somewhere else, the linking xml file looks suspicious too...

Finally, it works with presents and noise tables....When that is not the case, my bet is that there is something wrong with some obscure link that maps /serves certain resources as noise tables and presets with the db. When you open it for the first time and you see that the plugin doesn't contain noise tables, that's a telling sign, so probably the presets might crash it, due to the lack of that resource. Since this is just a flying audio app, crashing is the way out.

How to get it working "homemade style"?

Assuming that you've cleaned all leftovers from the main disk's library, users library, and you dare the extra mile in locations as main disk private var db receipts .... and so on

Get & Install the demo installer from NI

Get & Install the Native Access app, create an account.

Go offline & if you worry so much, delete the Native Access app....the folder structure created is what you care about, really.

Open the plugin and check if the noise tables and all work appropriately.

Install the unlocked version.

Add manually the presets inside your user folder ....

Good luck.
