[dead] Digidesign Hardware Emulator v12 OSX iNTEL XVX [UPD]
RELEASE INFO
this release is only for those who use the cracked pro tools hd copy by us.
this will not work with anything other than the version of pro tools that we
have already released. alternatively, it may work with just the patched
dae.framework, if you already have a legit ilok version.
Fixes in this release:
Several optimizations to allow for faster processing. The driver algorithm has
been completely rewritten in assembly, for both i386 and x86_64. The clicks and
pops were a result of an imperfect algorithm for 64-bit kernels, which we are
happy to say is now fixed! This driver is reaching completion to be used in
professional setups. We will also continue to look at driver-level patches, as
well as the remaining issues with the PT HD crack itself.
Currently, PT HD is patched to accept faked device info from XVX Device. XVX
Device contains code that identifies itself as M-Audio hardware. This is the
reason there is no ADC, or other HD features, and why HD appears to be only a
beefed up M-Powered. It is ENTIRELY possible to put code in XVX Device to identify
itself as Digidesign hardware and to patch PT HD to accept it. We will also
look into this route, as then PT HD will act like PT HD, with all the features
you are looking for, INCLUDING ADC. Where some of you might think emulation of
DSP processors is beyond reach, we affirm that it is not. However, it may not
be a trivial project. Shame on you, Digi, for making us do this.
The important thing has been to nail down stability. Once that is done, other
features can and will be added. Features like getting the driver recognized as
digi rather than m-audio. Stay tuned.
Remaining issues to be fixed:
1) Ability to save configuration when XVX Panel closes.
2) Issues with some hardware causing XVX Panel to freeze. Once again, if you are
having problems with your hardware, ioreg dumps will help, as well as COMPLETE
information on your setup. Sorry guys, we can't read minds, so "it doesn't work"
will simply be ignored.
3) Certain hardware not having all inputs or all outputs recognized. Here, detailed
information would also help. Thanks to all those who have submitted crash logs and
hardware dumps.
4) It is entirely possible that in fixing one bug, we have introduced others.
There's nothing like having thousands of users testing this to squeeze out all the
bugs. But this progress would not have been possible without your help.
Oh, and in case you are wondering, we do have plans to fix XILS and Flux. Patience.
INSTALLATION
1) Unpack
2) Run Install.app
3) If you have issues installing, try opening terminal and running
the install.command as a super-user
(i.e. cd /path/to/install/folder
sudo ./install.command)
4) If you receive an error saying XVXDevice couldn't be loaded,
because one with same uuid is already loaded, that means you must
reboot after it's installed.
