The most complete passive EQ plugin. Musical and intuitive, a must-have for mixing and mastering.

A DIFFERENT EQUALIZING EXPERIENCE
Pulsar Massive is an emulation of a legendary analog EQ that is present in almost every mastering studio in the world. This machine was designed as a synthesis of the best passive equalizers of the last 70 years, and several distinct features in the design give it an absolutely unique sound.

First of all, the fully parallel topology of the EQ gives completely different kind of response to a digital equalizer with the same settings. A parallel equalizer’s tonal corrections aren’t cumulative, but tend to interact with each other, resulting in a more intuitive and fluid way to shape the frequency spectrum.

As well as this, the whole equalization circuit of the original hardware is passive, and therefore has several inductors. These inductors, machined and wound specifically by the manufacturer, are responsible for a creamy, non-linear and organic sound due to the magnetic saturation they introduce.

Interestingly, there are some big differences between this plugin and the UA version:
- gain knows go to 20dB instead of 11dB
- curves are more drastic compared to UA even at same
Gain levels

What’s really good about this one is that when using the UI instead of the parametric view there’s actually a whole new interaction going on that can’t be done with the UA version and actually could only be done with 2 hands at a time (like a macro), namely the Q starts going up as soon as the gain is at its maximum.
So when you raise one Eq handle in the upper UI, first the gain goes up but as soon as the gain is at 20dB then the Q gets increased which means higher peak level at this handle. Very handy!
But it doesn’t stop there. What if you would want to set the Q at let’s say 2 o’clock and raise the gain from that point on? They actually made this to be very easy: when you raise the gain and the Q set to 2 o’clock for example, then the gain will be gering higher first until its at 20dB (highest possible) and then the Q will go up to its highest possible value. And when you lower the gain, the Q goes down until it is at the value that you have set prior to moving the gain!!! This is crazy!! Like having 2 hands at hardware.

I've been using their plugs for a couple of years, hands down the very best EQ plugs available imo. Their DSP goes up to 80k so the top end is really sweet! I only use Pulsar plugs for critical hi frequency adjustments, even pro Q sounds harsh in comparison. 1178 is also a masterpiece. Having said that, neither Massive or the UA version sound like a real Massive Passive.

To make it easy: there’s no plugin that sounds like hardware 🤣

I have to disagree, for instance, there are several plugins that really DO sound like 1176 compressors. Most Lexicon plugs sound exactly like Lexicon reverbs, the list goes on & on.

Does anybody know why these Pulsar plugins aren't opening correctly in Logic (M4 Pro)? When selected, the small loading box appears with the name of the plugin and the loading circle graphic, but doesn't advance beyond this point. Other non-Guiseppe Pulsar plugins continue to work fine though. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Any fix ?
