It doesn't allow me to mute or solo drum parts completely. Or am I missing the intended use for this plugin?

It is made for isolate the drum instruments of a drum track, only drums. Take a drum track or drum loop and you can mute or solo like in a mixing desk the main parts of drums, kick, snare, toms, hats, cybals and some more....

It could isolate toms, just like Neural Mix or similar programs that allows to mute voice, drums, melody and bass, but in this case for drums.

You can isolate drum parts of a track with some like Neural Mix, save and then play with the drum track using this plugin to mute, isolate, add more gain or change pan a snare or hihats i.e. individually.

It is nice to arrange some details in tracks where going backwards is almost impossible or very difficult to fine tune a hit, or fix a tail of a too much reverbered snare with the other plugin MORiA is shraring: "Debleed Drums" from Acon too...Very useful in a lot of situations, live records after recording when only 8, 12 tracks are only available.

Salute!

That's the thing: It's not allowing me to "separate" the drums.

Yes, it has the kick, snare, hat, etc on different channels, but the original drums (in full) are still playing in the background no matter what you do.

It would be great if I could completely remove say...the kick, and add my own to the song. But that's not the case here; unless I'm missing a crucial step beyond just adding the plugin to the audio channel.

Is for separate parts of a drum (kick, snare etc..) not to separate the drum of a song track.

If you want to do that, first separate the drum track with an app like Neural Mix Pro or a lot of AI (or similar algs.) there´s a ton for free online. Then INSERT Remix Drums in the drum track, insert like a compressor or so.

That's exactly what I'm doing. Which is why I'm confused.

Loaded a drum break on to a audio track, inserted the plugin with high hopes.

But alas. lol

EDIT: Welp, tried it on another drum loop and it now works. Have no idea why, but glad it works.

If you are using this on live drum breaks from old records, that will be an issue because there will be frequencies from each drum overlapping with others. Try using the Acon De-Bleed plugin uploaded at same time as this before this plugin in your effects chain. If still not as separated as you like, bounce copies, eq, chop like we always have. This will still cleanup things a lot.

It's a refined version of the "Remix" function in Acoustica Pro (there's also RipX DAW Pro and I believe Sonible makes an AI stem separation plug) -- and, as far as I know, the first plug or app that's capable of splitting up drum kits specifically.

Speaking of, does this mean there's a new version of Acoustica available?!? (Edit: no, apparently, it does not.)

Fuse Audio Labs has DrumsSSX, but it is more frequency based than AI. This is definitely better. Throw this on your drums in Logic, put a track into Latch automation mode, then use the sliders on this to write per drum levels automations. Even just a little bit to give some movement and imperfections, or to make big cuts with no mute button clicks.

This will be very useful. Thanks Moria.

Yes Fuse Audio - DRUM SSX was there first and i like it 100times better. I thought wow something like UVR for drums, with specific frequencies but this software isnt like that as i hoped.
It doesnt even know what a SD is. You move the channels and there are just some random noises there. Not like seperate Hits on every channel. If all channels are up yes you hear the original drumloop but as i said on every channel are some weird noise fragments. I get more of the SD on the Toms then anywhere else. This software is a good idea but badly made.
I stick with SSX
