Windows antivirus identifies the file as that ☝️trojan.

I assume it's a false positive. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks

Ok. I Edit: 5 services detect it as positive, but other services do not. The positives:

I've just scanned the installer & it seems to be clean; did you found Wacatac while installing the update? If not, so is possible that a silent trojan spreader is randomly replicating itself by injecting .exe files.

First of all, thank you Avenocturno and Samsum for your answers.
The positive result is detected by the 5 services I mentioned simply by analyzing the downloaded file or even without downloading it at all (this is the case of Microsoft, which cancels the download). It is also true that the rest of the online antiviruses do not detect it. I suppose it is a false positive, but I wanted to make sure.
My computer is free of viruses. At the moment, I still have not installed this update.

There are no viruses in this .exe although it may have once downloaded to your most likley infected Computer... The false positives are normally keygens, which this release does not have so see what AvenocturnO says as that is most likely the case and virus being injected to your .exe files

I download it twice and tried to install it twice... always the same result : virus (see below my previous comment).
If there are too many detecting engines that find an infected file,there's something's going on, it's hard to think it's a false positive.

As soon as I try to intall the update, Bitdefender detects the virus Gen:Variant.fugrafa.314871 in C:\users\user\AppData\Local\Temp1is-0GH5G.tmp\Toontrack EZbass v1.3.0 Update.tmp.

The software has been hacked improperly or it contains a virus indeed.... I will skip this update and will wait for the next one, hoping it will be ok (normally the distributions from VR are ok, by the way)

No, I've said that "possibly" a preexistent virus in the OS environment could be injecting any .exe which is downloaded when the system "looks" at those .exe. This is the usual way for the trojans to auto-replicate their codes into any already present &/or downloaded, transferred (& so on) files. Accord to Villegas the file wasn't even downloaded, so the scans made by him were done at web level. Whatever, I didn't find anything in this file through several scans of WD, Eset, AVG & BitDefender. Would be great if several users more do the same over this file once downloaded.

Pallaros, I've checked this with previous VR updates and the same thing happens, so I'll continue to rely on the VR files. Maybe the positive is due to my recent upgrade to Windows 11 and the behavior of the antivirus it integrates.

I didn't want to cause alarm with my comment, just to warn others just in case.

Personally I don't see your 02/04 advice as a disguisting alarm, if there are doubts I guess that must be exposed & together look for an explanation &/or solutions, eventually. Most pals here has more than good will about it & countless issues has been solved this way far beyond errors or missunderstandings. The real learning road has no end, beyond some wise guys lost over there from time to time
