Needs lookahead, because the first 1-2ms of the transients are not in the "attack" part, but in the delta/release part. The attack length/hold is also way too long to be useful on drums. Each kick, snare, tom, hat hit is fully in the attack portion of the audio (except for the first few ms of the transient), and the only thing that is left in the release part of the audio is stuff like bleed from other mics (if there is any) or reverb tails, and ofc the initial few ms of each transient.

Add 2-3ms lookahead to the processing and a way to adjust the length of the attack/transient part and it would be a somewhat useful plugin.
