### What's new?

December 4, 2024 -- The Cubase 14.0.10 maintenance update is now available. With this maintenance update, we are integrating many improvements and a long list of fixes and corrections in numerous areas of the application.

The update is immediately available for download via the Steinberg Download Assistant.

Changes in the new Score Editor
-------------------------------

### New Features

- We have added the ability to enable tab staves for fretted instruments.
- We have added the ability to enable percussion kits drawing with single lines or in a grid.
- Rehearsal Marks can now be created via the Text options on the Symbols tab.
- Ottava Lines can now be created via the Clefs options on the Symbols tab.
- Markers from marker tracks in musical time mode are now shown as boxed system text. They can be hidden individually via the info line.
- Lyrics can now be pasted from the Score menu, Lyrics from the Clipboard.
- Lyrics can now be pasted incrementally in the Lyrics popover.
- MIDI import and export now includes lyrics.
- Applying the DQ tool when multiple notes are selected creates a pair of DQ events in the corresponding region.
- "Nudge Cursor" (Transport category) key commands are now enabled.
- "Set Insert Length" key commands to set note toolbar durations are now enabled.
- "Move To String n" (Score Editor category) key commands can now specify the string for notes showing on tablature.
- "Cross To Staff Above/Below" (Score Editor category) key commands can now modify the string for notes showing on tablature.

### Reliability Improvements and Fixes

- Note duration changes via nudge commands or the rhythm dot buttons now appear reliably in the score.
- The Grace Note button now allows for entering grace notes with the Draw tool and toggles the slash on selected grace notes.
- The notated duration of grace notes can now be edited.
- Nudge key commands can now reliably adjust the duration of notes that are not snapped to the grid.
- We have implemented reliability fixes for working with multiple open projects.
- The Symbols tab section "Used in this Project" now updates reliably.
- Barlines and Fermatas now deselect correctly when new events get created.
- Trills on the lower staves of piano music sheets are now allowed.
- Initial custom barlines can now be deleted.
- Dragging now works more reliably.
- Notes no longer disappear in situations involving tuplets.
- Tracks named "Vl" are now recognized as Violin.
- Tracks named "The Grand" are now recognized as Piano.
- Key signature up/down buttons are now displayed as expected with the editor in the lower zone. When the editor is shown in the lower zone, Key signature up/down buttons also now appear reliably in the symbol palette.
- In Page View, the borders of a page are now drawn.
- The window title doesn't change any more if the Score Editor is open in the lower zone.
- Lyrics can now be dragged.

We have implemented the following improvements regarding the quantization display:

- Improved display quantize reliability and pick-up bars with non-4/4 time signatures
- Improvements for converting display quantize from previous versions of Cubase
- Better handling for fixed tuplet DQ setting if the corresponding tuplets don't fill the bar
- Notes filtered out as below or above range don't affect display quantize any more

We have improved the following features and functionality:

### DAW Project

- Track colors of effect and group tracks are now properly exported.
- Time signatures are now imported with correct values.
- Audio files are now imported at full length without truncation.
- Video offset settings are now exported correctly.
- Track Mute states now remain consistent across all track types when importing Projects.
- Projects with audio files containing UTF-8 characters in the file names are now imported correctly.
- Event offsets are now imported accurately.

### Editing

- When adding tracks to an existing range selection using the Shift key, the range selection now automatically extends to include the newly selected tracks.
- Volume Curve edit mode is now activated automatically when switching from the Range Selection to the Draw tool while an audio event is fully selected.
- Select commands using the "Combine Selection Tools" mode now work as expected.
- Cut, Copy and Paste commands when using the "Combine Selection Tools" mode now work as expected.
- Selecting alternative tools via toolbox on right-click now works as expected.
- Dragging and dropping a MIDI part from a frozen track now works as expected.
- Event colors in the List Editor now work as expected.

### Generic Remote

- Generic remote devices now properly select commands.
- Generic remote commands now appear in a pop-up window instead of an expanded menu.

### MediaBay

- The key command for "Search MediaBay" now works as expected.
- We have improved the performance when saving/browsing Multi Track presets.

### Modulators

- Parameter values are now permanently shown within the Modulator modules.
- Activating another Cubase project when Modulators are involved now works as expected.
- Oscilloscope views maintain the correct positioning after dragging Modulators modules.
- Dragging Modulators can now be canceled via the "ESC" key.
- Readability with larger font sizes for various Modulator parameters, e.g. the Connections area, has been enhanced.
- Track Archives now correctly preserve parameter connections when exporting and importing tracks with Modulators.
- We have added a unit display for parameter values across various Modulator modules.
- When editing scripts in the ModScripter modulator, navigation with the Home/End keys, also in conjunction with using CTRL/CMD keys, now works as expected.

### Plug-ins

- We have enhanced the Shimmer plug-in performance.
- Mix lock control now works as expected in the Shimmer and StudioDelay plug-ins.
- Parameter labels in the Shimmer plug-in are no longer unexpectedly abbreviated.
- The SuperVision plug-in now launches as expected.
- Setting up a Ping Pong delay with 1/8D delay time now works as expected in StudioDelay.
- Loading projects with REVerence now works as expected when using IR files with extended file names.
- Save commands now work properly when using any third-party plug-ins.

### Tracks

- "Set Time Offset to Project Cursor Position" on ruler tracks now works as expected when using the "Time Linear" timeline.
- Ruler track time domain settings are now preserved correctly when loading projects.

### User Interface

- The ruler now has readable numbers in the Dropouts section of the Audio Performance Monitor.
- Focus handling and closing of drop-down menus now works as expected.
- The menu bar section of workspaces now properly reflects the selected workspace.
- The folder track icon background now displays the correct color.

### Miscellaneous

- The Drum track following the chord track now works as expected.
- Dragging and dropping MIDI parts to the desktop now works as expected.
- Freezing sampler or drum tracks via the context menu in the track list now works as expected.
- Opening steinberg.help by pressing the F1 key is now possible.
- MIDI Remote commands now reliably control opening and closing of the Inspector section "Notepad".
- Channel selection now persists correctly in the Lower Zone MixConsole.
