MASCHINE 3 is all about getting your musical ideas flowing. It’s there every step of the way from beat making and sampling to arranging and performing your tracks. Use it with virtual instruments or your own samples, both on its own and in a DAW. And if you’re ready to take things up a gear, bring in Maschine hardware to get hands on.

it is made by a german company and they do always pronounce every letter, but I'm not sure the accent is required in other languages

Just in case people aren't aware, yet another update from NI that's building in obsolescence and technological waste by arbitratrily coding the older Maschine devices out of being able to work with this update (same as they did for the Mk1 S-range keyboard in KK 3.0.0 and audio interfaces, Guitar Rig, Kore etc before that). Such an irresponsible company, both in terms of forcing expensive hardware upgrades onto its customers (particularly in years of economic difficulties and instability) and also environmentally irresponsible for generating so much unnecessary technological waste as there is no technical limitation as they all use the same technological protocols to talk to the software.

With NI stuff, all I can say is buyer beware, and only invest your cash and time in NI stuff if you're happy to be fleeced again and shown no loyalty a couple of years down the line!

Other than that, thanks again for another great release @bobdule!

I find your criticism too harsh. This is a completely normal procedure. After all, the Mk1 machine has been on the market for 15 years now and the manufacturer has to remain competitive, i.e. sell new hardware. Think about how long a cell phone manufacturer provides updates. And please who is forcing you to buy new hardware!? I still like to use the Mk1 version and don't always need the latest updates.

Nah, I'm voting not harsh enough.
I have other samplers, but among them I'm still voluntarily using the MK1, mostly because I like that particular physical workflow and don't need/want the later versions with a large-ass colored screen surrounded by flashing Christmas lights on a spaceship console. I can fully see where Bunford is coming from here. The nearly proprietary nature of each version of KONTAKT (as per library builds,) is example enough of how they disregard their customers needs to shove their latest must-buy software at people—and that's their software—so I can see people getting bent about purchasing hardware that's not going to fall victim to obsolescence, but be shoved into it. And let's be real here, NI has never exactly been the people's champion.

In reading the NI info about this one, they say they designed the software to work seamlessly WITHOUT hardware support. Obviously there is the option of using the hardware as well but seems it is not required at all. Dunno about previous versions being more hardware dependent but it seems this one is a departure from previous releases.

It always depends on whether you see the glass as half full or half empty. I don't see any disadvantage in supporting a piece of hardware for 15 years. And just because the hardware no longer receives updates after such a long period of support doesn't make it any worse.

quote by SpyderBlackPlease help. The Maschine Central Library released here isnt seen by this Maschine release.

I think that's an issue with installing the library, not an issue with this Maschine release.

Copied this from another library which is not .iso, I believe the steps are same, replace Velvet Bloom with Maschine Central of course.

1. Place "Velvet Bloom Library" in :

C:\Users\Public\Documents\

- it can be custom place but you need to match it with the "ContentDir" entry in the registry later

2. Create a "Velvet Bloom Library" folder in:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments

And put inside the PAResources folder

3. Create a "Velvet Bloom" folder in:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\NI Resources\image

Copy all the files inside the folder "images" in PAResources folder earlier and paste it there

3. Add to Registry

regedit location

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Velvet Bloom]
- create "Key" (Registry Folder) for Velvet Bloom

add "Strings" (later "Modify" to insert the details) for :
"ContentDir"="C:\Users\Public\Documents\Velvet Bloom Library"
"ContentVersion"="1.0.0"

Tips : while you were creating the folders and editing registry, you can check out the file structure and format of other Maschine library, it should give you an idea how to place the folders, file and registry strings.

I'm not seeing the option to update in my native access. it says all products up to date. Would installing this screw up my version? ( I'm using v2.18 at the mo). I have a MK II hardware. Maybe incompatible? thanks...

first time loading with take about 10-15 min to load content. Thanks BobDule

I always wondered why NI takes a min to load. Json would make it load faster won't it over an Xml
