Forgive for stupid question but does it require an account and login?

I have tried some Youtube open source apps like Newpipe and Libretube which is good as i hate ads but its not so good as many times when i see videos on channels with ads it stop the video (and sometimes the app crashes) it is probably when there is suppose to be an ad.

yes, you login with your Spotify account if you want to access your playlists;
for YT, YT Music, I use YMUSIC + AdGuard for android, no ads, no sponsors...

About Spotify Premium for Android:

- It works, but NO OFFLINE LISTENING!
- You can use your real email without being banned (never had any issue)
- Amoled version is just Spotify without background color!
- Clone is two Spotify apps/accounts on the same phone

If you want free alternatives (incl. offline listening), try Spotube (Spotify Client), RiMusic (YT/YT Music Client) or even YMusic* (YT/YT Music Client).

*YMusic has ads, but you can fully disable them with AdGuard). YMusic is, by far, the best option!

I updated over my previously installed k'd Spotify. This one still has ads here and there at first few runs. Tested the Spotube as well. Apparently it needed more battery power, more data (still little in amount, just more) and took more time to load the song as it access the data from one place and get the music from another. K'd Spotify load the song faster. Not sure what else to say, they play the songs and that should be good enough.
