Seems like Plugin Alliance / brainworx "lowered" the protection level generally to make it more user-friendly, plus they dropped the use of Arxan/digital.ai DRM that has been on some of thier plugins before.

Remember Plugin Alliance is now owned by Native Instruments and i'm quite sure there has been some sort of a management desicion... Either way I think we can thank R2R big time for showing Plugin Alliance how useless a big protection scheme is and that it just hurts the enduser

PA removed all Arxan/digital.ai DRM, that's why so many teams are now able to kill it at the same time . (Otherwise they can only be owned by R2R)

They're not the same. PA used to rely on Arxan/digital. ai DRM to protect their core plugins from being destroyed (only R2R has the ability to kill these junks)。

But now PA has removed these junks.
Many customers complain that plug-ins load very slowly because of these protections!
And these protections can always be taken out by R2R, so eventually they give in!

As for slate, they rely on the powerful ilok3, they are different.

I don't think that anyone claimed that, as both version simply have the protection removed, it's just a different release team. You can't make the plugins work better, you can only remove what's holding them back from performing as efficiently as they could.
