KickDrum precision bassdrum synthesis | A digital dancefloor kick is basically a sine wave oscillating from a high pitch to a low pitch - simply put. But when it comes to shaping the pitch curve and leveling certain bands a dimension of endless possibilites opens. KickDrum was created to achieve maximum precision with an intuitive workflow, while exploring this dimension, aiming to achieve the desired sound in a short time.

KEY FEATURES

Phase Zero Crossing
The phase control enables precise adjustment of the phase zero crossing. For instance, it can be positioned at the end of the kick, to create a phase-accurate transition to the bassline.

Length
The length of the kick can be set relatively to match the beat grid or statically in milliseconds.

Free Bézier Curves
The Bézier curves gravity point can be freely adjusted on two axes for more precise shaping.

Full Navigation
Use the right mouse button to zoom and pan on the Oscillogram, Decibel scale, Pitch Keyboard, or EQ, offering precise editing down to the sample.

One Click WAV Export
Copies the current kickdrum as a .wav file to the clipboard, allowing it to be pasted anywhere needed.

Synthesis integrated EQ
The fully featured synthesis integrated linear phase EQ applies its frequency response during the synthesis, resulting in latency-free and DSP-efficient equalizing.

Rich Preset Browser
Create, rename, delete, tag, filter, and sort presets or manage subdirectories with the fully featured preset browser.

Keysnap
If needed, the pitch curves points snap to the closest musical note, making in-key editing easy.

What in your opinion makes it better than Kick2 or Big Kick?

i havent used big kick but i own this and have used kick 2 and punchbox a lot imo this is better at making psy trance style kicks with the higher more zappy timbre as it allows you to focus in on the pitch bend around the transint more and lets you control the eq in a unique way,and has extra functionality for phase alignment, where as i find kick 2, i can always tell by the sound stuff is made on it (like many kick sample packs seem to be entirely made on kick2) but it is more all rounder, and punch box is my personal favorite and has fuller timbre and kicks ass for making techno. other notables chop suey by sinee+and i really love TRK-01by ni
this is just my opinion its very subjective to your taste

Sounds interesting then, i agree with most of what you said about the Kick2 and the Punchbox. I personally use Kick2 for psytrance kicks because it has a lot weight and it's easier to manipulate them internally. This look to me more like BazzISM but i ll give it a try. You guys sold me to it.

This plugin has an ungodly amount of care put into it. If you have the means, I'd urge you to support the developer. We need more plugin devs that put this amount of care into their plugins.

There is no kick or snare synthesis plugin that even comes close to this.

It has note snapping, (so you can make sure your kicks or snares end on the note that you want) and sure Kick 2 'sort of' has that too but this is accurate down to CENTS and the phase doesn't get messed up every time you change something in the pitch curve.

It has a "preserve" mode that preserves the pitch curve when you're lengthening or shortening the kick/snare.

You can shift around the phase of the kick/snare without affecting the sound at all (useful when you want to align your kick with bass for example).

It has 2 extra slots you can copy your preset to, so that in case you mess it up you can go back to them.

It has an eq that doesn't introduce any phase shift or clipping, or any issues you'd get from using a regular eq, it instead resynthesizes the sound to give the result that you are looking for without the drawbacks of using an eq, you would still probably be able to mitigate those issues either way, but it saves a lot of time if you use this.

You can also zoom in VERY far.

There's also apparently V2 on the way that has even more stuff, like being able to insert samples etc.

This plugin made my life a hell of a lot easier, because I often need my kicks and snares to be in key, and not having to align the phase each time I change the pitch curve has been incredibly helpful.
