For my part, I used the audiowarez installer and the R2R patch and I couldn't update it in circles towards 12.0.1. I haven't tried again since because I found that live 12 was much more buggy than my old 10.3...

Perhaps due to an incompatibility?

I can't seem to figure out why the release notes between the official and the beta are so different.

Do I need to assume or expect that everything from the beta release notes is allready included in the official version or are there actual differences.

everything in the beta notes is included, hence the notes for 12.0.5 will be very long and the notes for 12.0.2 and 12.0.1 are just very short bcs ableton just fixed any authorization problems or very urgent problems.

hope 12.0.5 will have pdf manual, hate online manuals.
If you want to supply something, you can. PM is open for that.

R2R wrote in there release of 12 live that you can update from live when its open, but i cant im sure you have to have it registered with ableton to get the update, when i click update it takes me to ableton 9 update which i got when i bought push 2, if anyone knows a way of updating 12 let me know thx

as far as i can see on the ableton website nothing really changed since 12.0

The R2R version updates on its own, if you enable "Get Automatic Updates" under preferences > Licenses & Updates.

You need to ensure "vcruntime140_1.dll" is allowed on your system, so Defender or other anti-virus doesn't delete/block it.

Then when you launch 12.0.1 it will notify you in the bottom left corner that it is "Downloading Live 12.0.2 - You'll be notified when the update is ready. Click here for release notes"

Once the download is complete, the message will change to tell you it will take effect next time you restart Live. Once you do that, you'll be up and running with 12.0.2, no problems... worked fine for me, just as R2R described.

As noted, nothing really worth upgrading for in 12.0.2... just wait for the 12.0.5 release.

When is the 12.0.5 release coming? I am so annoyed with not having the shortcut to hide the return tracks that they removed in 12, but are re-introducing in 12.0.5 according to the beta notes.

Not sure but I also watching and waiting. I tried the initial release and immediately deleted it. They screwed up so many basic functions, like you said and also browser being a huge one. I hope they eventually offer some kind of on/off switches in preferences for the new browser garbage and other important features it had forever until now because my folder structures I worked hard on building a very organized and fast workflow for years... ugh

If you have Live 11 alongside and allow the update on Live 12 it will funk the v11 up, you wont be able to use it after that.

Does anyone else have a problem when switching audio devices?

It works flawlessly when choosing an audio device after launch, but when I try to change to a different device it tells me it can't find it (even though it still appears in the menu).
When trying to switch back it fails to load any audio device.
I'm Running on a fresh install of latest windows 11 Insider program.
