Amalgamated Signals Nepenthe v1.0.0 VST AU WiN macOS [FREE] screenshot

Nepenthe is a reverb designed to be smooth, transparent, and easy to use.

Nepenthe's algorithm is based on the concept of velvet noise. Rather than building echoes with a network of delay lines, it uses a predetermined set of randomly-generated echoes. This is a very simple design, which works well with modern CPU optimizations, so Nepenthe runs efficiently.

Nepenthe is open source, and its code is annotated with detailed explanations of the design.

Controls
Time is how long it takes, in seconds, for the reverb to decay by 60dB.
Delay specifies the pre-delay time, in milliseconds.
Bass controls the low-frequency content of the reverb.
Treble controls the high-frequency content of the reverb.
Width controls the stereo width of the reverb.
Mix controls how much reverb is mixed with the dry signal.

Sounds okay, but it's a very dark reverb. Reminds me the most of a very dark plate reverb. Even with treble at 100% it's still quite a bit darker than most reverbs. Sounds like it's low-passed at like 2kHz.

Good proof-of-concept though, but it would be much more useful if the frequency range wasn't so limited.
