The framework previously uploaded is the crack or the plugins or a combo of both?

602 MB for a plugin?

The Windows version is about half the size.
Maybe there are more sample rates here included in that release?
48khz is missing in the Win release.

The Mac version (of anything, really) includes UB -- it used to be 32 bit and 64-bit, Cocoa and Intel, and these days, it's the Intel and Apple processor versions. Essentially, it's two complete versions of the same plug or app in one, while the Windoze installer only installs the one version, so it's half the size. You can run an app like CleanMyMac X to get rid of the version you don't need.

Have you legit Acustica Plugins? You only installed this or the framework as well?

NO, first they block your account for 24 hours and then it will be permanent

Psyevil, are you being serious? Sorry, I cannot tell.

As soon as their installation tool Aquarius detects key'd AA files, your account gets blocked automatically.

Sorry for my stupid question...can the plugin be installed directly if I don't have anything acoustic installed?

well sure thats what the framework is for! You have to move some things into the vst/vst3/au folders and such and codesign things. Directions are pretty clear

Amethyst (17) - EQ A: Amek clone EQ, EQ B: Amek 9098r + Amek 9098 compressor + Amek 2500 & 9098 preamp options. Rupert Neve designed gear. 9098 has a smooth RND - 33609'ish flavor.

So I looked at the differences between the mac and win releases and it appears all the files are the same in each VST3 folder... so if I install the mac framework, would I be able to dump the VST3 files from the win releases into my VST3 folder and it works? Or do I have to copy over VST, VST AND AU into their respective folders in order for this to work????

The main differences between the mac and win releases is the AVX support. In this and others Mac releases AVX is absent. R2R is giving PC users a great gift with their modified framework with AVX support. AA is missing in his outdated official framework, so R2R has put a patch on it, and what a great patch it's, folks...

AVX isn't supported with the current crop of ARM-based processors used in M series Apple computers. But do ARM-based processors really need AVX support with the state of audio software today? You'll have to wait for ARMv9.

AVX is for Intel cpu.

I'm on an M1 Mac and it took me 15 mins to figure this out, so if anyone is as dumb as me, here's a dumbed down addendum to the directions txt: 1) download and install the MacOS Acustica framework according to the directions (its a separate download on audioz), 2) unzip and place all the VST/VST3/AU files from the Amethyst4 download in your normal plugin folders, 3) unzip the R2R folder and put copies of everything from that folder into the same plugin folders where you just put the VST/VST3/AU files (there's a link to a screenshot of what your VST folder structure should look like in the r2r directions txt, follow that, it just involves combining the R2R folder's contents with the VST folders' contents). 4) run the terminal commands from the bottom of the instructions.txt, but I had to run the first chunk of commands first and then run each of the last 3 lines individually (eg run the first chunk of code, then run the line with "library/audio/plug-ins/VST/amethyst4.vst", then run the first chunk again, then run the line for "library/audio/plug-ins/Components/amethyst4.component", etc.) for it to work. You might have to change some of the lines of code before you copy/paste. My instructions had AMBER3 instead of AMETHYST4, which you have to replace with the correct plugin name, and also they accidentally called the AU plugin folder "AU" instead of "Components", 5) search for updated plugins in DAW, 6) restart DAW

Ultimately I only got the Amethyst4 AU version and the Amber3 VST3 versions to work, all the other versions won't even open, so maybe I did something wrong, but hopefully this will help someone if you're as confused at the directions as I was.

How do you install the framework>? it is a .zip file. Are we placing the framework folder in the acustica folder we are creating? thank you.

Create a folder in ~/Library/Application Support/ (User Library, not the Computer Library) with the name Acustica
(this is used for the user settings if you resize the GUI. if this folder doesn't exist and you change the size of the plugin the DAW will crash)
quick one-liner that can be pasted into terminal if you don't know how to create that folder:

Download the Acustica framework (unzip) and place the folder into /Library/Frameworks/
Without the framework the plugin GUI will stay black.
