Largo 2 is the software synthesizer with Waldorf DNA. A fully-fledged Waldorf synthesizer for your virtual rack.

The UI has been redesigned and now enables continuous scalability. Whether you use a 5K monitor or the FHD screen of your laptop, whether viewing in full size or as a small status display – the plug-in always remains in focus.

3 fat oscillators per voice (two of them with sub oscillators) with classic waveforms and 68 Wavetables taken from the legendary Microwave and Wave synthesizer and also the Q and Blofeld – 2 independent multimode filters – up to 4 layers per sound and 4 stereo outputs. We have added a variety of three formant filter types which mimic the frequency response of the human vocal tract. By using the cutoff parameter you can morph between the vowels a-e-i-o-u for all your favourite choir and voice-like modulations.

Largo 2 offers native 64-bit support for macOS (Apple silicon & Intel) and Windows.

Largo 2 is fully compatible with all existing soundsets and and users can import all the sounds they have created so far.

Largo 2 will be installed as a separate plug-in. This ensures that all existing Largo projects continue to run as they are.

And again, it’s the innovative sound that makes the big difference.

The old GUI was a bit dated, I'm not in love with this white red GUI, its an ugly lazy effort but at least its resizable.

They charge 40 bucks "upgrade" for GUI only (and formant filters ... most ppl don't care about).
NOTHING new on the engine side.

They still play the "hardware only" game for a lot of features.

I understand they want to keep their hardware "safe".
But at the end, their plugins will simply disappear.
And hardware sells are probably already declining for years.

To me, this "nothing new" update is a sign.

Not only the Gui, but the engine has also been reengineered, close to Blofeld now. I tested face to face, superior sound compared with Largo 1

DSP56300 Vavra + all microQ software, roms from Waldorf website and you get 1:1 microQ on your PC.
Why they emulate blofeld by improving Largo, if they just could copy their DSP code from blofeld into plugin, like DSP56300 team did with virus b, c, microQ

DSP code from DSP56300 for blofeld is much more different than C++ code in which Largo is written, you cant just copy, you have to translate it.

Also DSP56300 code requires Assembly, thats why its very different.
If you want to supply something, you can. PM is open for that.

And YES i tried it too ... and deleted it just after hearing the SAME engine.

I don't know how you compared them ... because official Waldorf said they changed NOTHING to the engine, apart the filters.

The answer to life, the universe and everything? If you're one of those tree-hugging flat-earthers who believe in synthesizer 'relevance' in the modern market, you probably should be looking at something different. Get a Blofeld. Cheap as chips. Get a Pulse. At least you'll preserve the resale value.

Completely awesome: The resizable GUI was the only thing missing from this synth.

As a side note, UI being ugly shouldn't matter since you are supposed to make some music and not watching a video game...

Yeah, fair. The only problem using the old version was the postage stamp gui. But now your eyes hate you when you look at this horror! Wish they'd included a dark skin

Installed version 1 a week ago and played with the presets , filters etc for an hour or so . ( Before that i i have installed various others and also play with them ) . I have to say it didnt impress me at all and i know what you know but ...... I will try this one though .

When i load banks it resizing GUI to default position, if its about Waldorf congrats them. There is no any new presets, all presets exist in Largo, hearing same.
