How to install

1. Uninstall old version

2. Add this line to your *hosts* file C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
127.0.0.1 id.serato.com

3. Install *Serato Sample v2.0.0 CE*

click on Terminal Admin and confirm
copy/paste the following:

echo 127.0.0.1 id.serato.com >> %WINDIR%\System32\Drivers\Etc\Hosts

press Enter

Before I type "echo 127.0.0.1 id.serato.com >> %WINDIR%\System32\Drivers\Etc\Hosts" in the Terminal

I open the hosts file with a text editor and copy\paste the line lol, takes 3 seconds.

But who cares, main thing is that it works.

can you help me with the stems
plugin opens, everything works fine except stems
after selecting instruments nothing happens.
what to do in this case? is this an offline or online thing?

Try to load an audio file from the desktop. Sounds like there is something write protected ?! When it produces Stems, it puts a .stems file inside the audio file's directory. Check the folders properties. Good luck

Hey Digital, Im a rookie with alot of this stuff....Can you put in quotes exactly what I should type when adding the line to host? Like am I typing C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc or am I typing 127.0.0.1 id.serato.com? Thanks for help if you can

Go to the "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc" folder with Windows Explorer.

There's a file inside called "hosts", open that file with any text editor, like notepad.

Make a new line in that file and paste "127.0.0.1 id.serato.com" in it.

Hi, I followed your instructions precisely and Sample works fine, thanks for that! I turned off "send user data" and also tried to block Sample in windows defender firewall, which I failed to do because it seems like I can only block exe files but not vst files there. because of this I still feel a little insecure about running it. Is it certain that Sample can not phone home and snitch on me? I would be very happy about a reply from you.

Man i' can't use it, it always tell me "There was a problem opening the plugin Serato Sampleξ“Ώ for an unknown reason. Please make sure it was installed correctly."

i been trying once and once.

1. Uninstall (I uninstall it with revo)

2. Paste the Id in the host

3. Re-install

I did the steps once and once and never worked for me, do you know why?

Have you deinstalled the previous Version before Installing? Try to research or reinstall the Plugin. Working here under FL 21.1.

By the Way the first Plugin which removes elements from Samples and doesen't stress your CPU heavy. Well done by Serato.

Yeah I did uninstall the previous version but FL plugin manager puts it under the "error" state for me

Try removing all traces of prior install from your system, There are free third-party uninstallers that will do it for you. Might help

I uninstalled with Ashampoo Uninstaller. Anyway, there are fixed suggested by others that I'll try or I'll just wait for R2R's release

It's working fine in FL 21.1 (Windows 11),
installed to %CommonProgramFiles%\VST3,
everything is there "Serato Sample.vst3" and "Serato.Sample.Runtime".
It loads without any problem.

Edit: It's working great in FL 21.1, no problems at all.
