This developer surely knows how to make terrible, cold, uninspiring UIs that put me off from ever wanting to use their plugins. This "flat" UI trend really needs to end.

I really want the 3D buttons and knobs from the mid 00's back, but with the resolution and scaling options that we have today. I want something that has some depth and looks like real hardware that you can touch. Is that too much to ask?

Most of the best audio software, the ones that sound really good because they are designed with the balls, have very light GUIs (apart from AA). The world of physics has not changed and the same laws that were valid yesterday are still valid today. You listen with your ears, not your eyes.
