I have found the basses here don't sit great in a mix. Ik Modo Bass seems to work better for my tracks. I do use the midi patterns for inspiration though.

VR and hiedra.

EZbass is lacking some essential articulations and it doesn't sit well in the mix.

EZ bass is the best, sits in a mix very easily especially if using ezdrummer. Thanks a lot!

It´s great for modern metal, and in that area I found nothing which sits better in the mix (except Eurobass by Submission Audio, but that one has not many options for shaping the sound).

My advice for everyone who wants the best sounding sample bass for modern metal:

Choose EZbass Metal (Preset: Clean DI - Pick) and send it through Neural DSP Parallax!

What you get is absolutely great, heavy and even realistic sounding, and pretty similar to Eurobass, only that in Eurobass you can´t change sound parameters much as the bass is sampled already amped (also Parallax).
The only better sounding bass for modern metal you´ll get is if you play a real bass, but it has to be a good one and you have to play it well ;)

Is anyone else missing the models "EZBass Modern and EZBass Vintage" with this update? I can see My other expansions installed and working normally, but those two models I mentioned aren't appearing when I update to 1.1.6 or 1.1.5.

I have to go back to 1.1.4 to have the basses.

The library can't be relocated to external drive without having to look for it every single time I open it. Has anyone been able to solve this?

OK-I see I have a symlink in "ProgramData\Toontrack\" for EZBASS and I don't have to use that method for any of the other Toontrack programs.
So, I think you will need to create a Sylmink there pointing to where you move it.
I use Link Shell Extension for doing that.

You might be able to change the path in registry - i have not looked into that... but I would suggest Link Shell Extension anyway, as it makes it very easy to symlink whatever you want.

I tried dropping as Symbolic Link and as Junction and neither worked

Hmm... I updated to EZ Bass v1.1.6, and my libraries are:
Modern : 1.1.1
Vintage : 1.1.4
I get no warning.. I wonder why i don't.

OK - in the v1.1.4 update is where my Vintage got updated to 1.1.4, and my Modern got updated to 1.1.1, (and that "aversion" file has an extra line that reads: "minreq EB 1.0.9").

So, I would say get the v1.1.4 update at least.
I have the v1.1.4 and the v1.1.5 and I find no library update in the v1.1.5, but will keep it, too, for now.
Very good to know, as these updates are sometimes cumulative and i might have deleted all but the original v1.0.0 & the v1.1.6 update, if you had not mentioned this issue. I will keep all of them - LOL

It appears to be cumulative! I also had Modern and Vintage models missing because I uninstalled EZBass 1.1.4 to install 1.1.6

Turns out deleteing 1.1.4 deleted Modern and Vintage basses I think. So I again deleted everything, and then I installed 1.0.0, then 1.1.4 and then 1.1.6 so I have all basses now working!

The following bug came back in this version:

- An additional pluck would sometimes be heard during non-legato slides.

Thus, I rolled back to 1.1.4 and the pluck sound has been reduced.

I currently have 1.0 installed. Do I uninstall it to install this one or do I just install it and have it overwrite it?

Nvm. You just install over the previous one(s)
