The software is, when the K-ers say "M1 is not supported" it means they didn't K the ARM binaries (for whatever reason), only the Intel ones.

If this is RET/R2R, they generally aren't that interested in doing ARM releases, unless it's easy (eg, a keygen means the legit unmodified versions work).

no need to apply the patch again if you're just updating the ones you're already installed- Just move the license somewhere before the update (not to be overwritten) then put it back - restart- apply au utility if necessary.

Hi I followed your instructions. V14 from RET (22.09.22) worked, but while overwriting with this version. Installation failed after 10 % loading. I have Monterrey on an M1 Macbook. In Logic X 10.7.4 I had question marks instead of information about Settings so I tried to update.

Hey, I followed carefully all the instructions but in the end when I try to open a plugin in Ableton, it says "Waves License Error" (XX does not have a license, check that you have a valid license).

Anybody know what happened and what should I do?

The last official version of mac OS for supporting Waves 14 and Ableton 11 is 12.4 (Monterey) not Ventura. Having the latest OS for a music production system is not always a good idea.

Dammit, it's a new MacBook therefore I have run the update at the beginning.
Does it mean I need to wait for Waves to update? Or do you know if there is a way to come back to Monterey?

Yes you can roll back, it's not that hard , Google it . " Downgrading is fairly easy if your Mac originally came with an older version of macOS installed. That's because you can use the built-in macOS Recovery tool to downgrade. Just ensure you have internet access during the process, as the software will download a previous version of macOS."

OK let me clarify this STEP by STEP for M1 users

1. Download this latest waves v14 release by RET.

2. Extract and install Waves Central v13.3.1.

3. Perform an offline installation by choosing plugins you like to install or install all online

4. Replace WavesLicenseEngine.bundle in Library>Application Support>Waves>Modules

5. Replace "index.js" in
/Library/Application Support/Waves/COSMOS/HTML/

6. Replace "app.asar" in
/Applications/Waves/COSMOS/COSMOS.app/Contents/Resources/

7. Open terminal and paste following commands:
xattr -cr /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/Modules/WavesLicenseEngine.bundle

sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/Modules/WavesLicenseEngine.bundle

8. Run waves keygen on a windows pc or with crossover on M1 macs.

9. Find your computer id on waves central licenses tab, enter exact id to keygen and generate license file.
You can also find ID on Library>Application Support>Waves>Licenses>LastAcceptableMACAddress

10. Copy license file to Library>Application Support>Waves>Licenses

11. RESTART your mac FIRST and run waves au reg utility 14 and click let's go, it will identify your plugins.

12. Open your daw it will automatically scan plugins, if not rescan plugins manually.

If you are in trouble a lot, I guess you should uninstall any previous version from Waves Central v13.3.1.

1. If you still have `Waves Central.app` installed open it and go to `Settings > Maintenance`. From the `Uninstall` dropdown select everything (`V10`, `V11`, `V12`, `V13` & `Applications & SoundGrid I/O Drivers`) and press `Uninstall`. After that's finished press `OK` and press on the `Cleanup` button. The `Waves Central.app` will restart and ask you to agree with the T&C, just quit it using the `CMD + Q` command.
2. Use `AppCleaner.app` to uninstall `Waves Central.app`.
3. Delete the leftover files/folders by using the following commands:

sudo rm -rf /Applications/Waves
sudo rm -rf /Users/Shared/Waves
sudo rm -rf /Library/Preferences/Waves\ Preferences
sudo rm -rf /Library/Logs/Waves\ Audio
sudo rm -rf /Library/Caches/Waves
sudo rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Waves
sudo rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Waves\ Audio/
```
4. Open your **DAW** and make sure there is no Waves plugin there. Close the DAW.
5. Restart.
