Spectral warping wavetable synth

Warp waves in new ways
Give new life to wavetables by using Vital's spectral oscillator warping.
Spectral warping acts on a waveform's harmonics and can create drastically different shapes and timbres from a simple source.

Customize your sound
Turn your own samples into wavetables by using Vital's pitch-splice or vocode wavetable converter.
Create wavetables from scratch using the built-in wavetable editor and even generate wavetables from text!

See everything
Vital is a visual synthesizer. See what's happening behind the scenes with animated controls, filter responses, waveforms, smooth LFOs, oscilloscopes, spectrograms and more.
All animations run at 60 frames per second and are GPU optimized which leaves your CPU to do its real job: the audio processing.

Connect anything
Modulate Vital's controls with a fast, drag and drop workflow.
Vital gives you a preview of the modulation before committing so you can quickly experiment without ruining your sound.

Design sounds with powerful tools
Modulate your sound with custom LFO shapes, snappy envelopes and randomized sources like perlin noise.
Give your sound some human touch with velocity, aftertouch and MPE control modulation.

Get deep into modulation
Use stereo modulation to split the left and right channels of every modulation to get extra wide stereo effects.
Then 'remap' the modulation curve to customize the shape of every modulation connection.

Supported Operating Systems:
Windows: 10 and higher
MacOS: 10.12 and higher (Intel or Apple Silicon)
Ubuntu Linux 18.04 and above

System Requirements:
64 bit only
OpenGL 3 or higher

I think we with old OSs were left behind: last working version on my system was 1.0.8. Since then, instant crashes when opening the plugin (windows 8.1 here).
PS: just to inform.

Pitch-bend and Mod-WEEL question.
this version still doesn't solve the problem affected by every modern DAW with Mpe support. Only vst3 works correctly, while in AU and VST2, still Pitch-bend and Mod-WEEL don't work. Only pitch-bend could work in AU and Vst2, but only if you enable MPE in advanced Tab window in Vital. Unfortunately MPE option is program-patch dependent, as well Oversampling. It would be convenient to have a global option in preferences to enable/disable them.

UPD:
until Vital fixes this bug, a temporary workaround in Ableton (I checked only Ableton for now) is this:
after instantiating a Vital, ctrl-click on device's title-name. In the sub-menu click to disable Mpe option. This step will surely have to be repeated at each session startup

I'll let you know how this works for me- in the meantime, THANKS! to Vital and Hidera.

Seems interesting, what are your guys opinion about this synth?
  Moderator 4.06.2022 3222

Its usually not the first I reach for, but its a good capable synth and I use it often. The only issue I had was with preset management. Give it a go!

I think its great you can use it for free or support the author, the GUI & mod options are fantastic & hard to beat imo.

First of all, Vital have an exceptional sound quality. Both oscillators and filters are very good.
Speaking about the filters, you have a great choice of different filter types some are almost exclusive to Vital.

Also its effects are of high quality and easy to setup.

Then, it's structure and GUI make it very practical to create sounds easily, following your inspiration intuitively without caring for technical questions.

So all in all, this is one of the best vst synthesisers actually, no matter free or not.

Everything is excellent except the sound which is flat and dull no matter what method of synthesis or oversampling setting you use. No energy, no clarity, no space. Can't be put in a mix properly. Such a curious thing, since synth math is not something unique nowadays and VItal must have been using some common algorithms. But Vital's sound has it's own character and this character is awful.

This is a odd response to me. Clarity is something I would say Vital excels at when compare with other popular synths, in fact there arent any, free or paid, that I can think of better at this.

I dont know what you mean by "no energy and no space", the tools are there to get those thing, so if you cant get it in your user preset sound design or a song mix that is user error. I have no problem making this synth mix well, sound huge and lively and clear as can be.

I guess this is an example of how we all see and hear things different.

The reason its not my #1 go to synth is down to workflow (my racks, preset handling and oversampling settings), and even that it slowly changing, otherwise it consistently delivers whether its bass, lead, chords, fx...

I wonder how you came to that conclusion.
Are you creating your own presets or using pre-made ones?
What genre are you doing?
Do you have an example of a mix with Vital?
What Vsti do you use that, in your opinion , get through the mix?

I do my own presets and have absolutely no problem about "dull" sound.

Do I understand correctly: it crashes when used on Windows 7? Version 1.0.7 is working fine for me, but I thought about updating.

For me, this version works better (Debian 11, Reaper 6.75, VST2) than v1.0.8 I have been using for a long time. At least it seems so as I haven't tested it extensively yet. It opens snappier, it works smoother in general and so far it hasn't crashed or caused any problems.

Regarding pitch and mod wheels, they work normally, but the issue is with GUI wheels that don't move. Maybe v1.5.6 will resolve that.

I like the sound more than Serum which I cannot use in Linux btw. Xfer plugins are also a bit buggy and prone to crashes. I'm yet to try some of these newer versions of Serum.
