Hi to all,
does anyone knows if there is a fork of audacity with implemented asio drivers ? Otherwise, you have to compile yourself Audacity for ASIO and Build your own Audacity for Windows with ASIO driver support. And it's not simple

There is an easier way to build Audacity for Windows with ASIO here: https://gist.github.com/SteveALee/da24c2be633340b8791066dd98eb5d0b I've done it at some point out of curiosity and it was simpler than tweaking Windows registry, for example. ;) Otherwise, try using WASAPI as it is very good. If you need to use ASIO because you want to use it with your DAW, you will have to build it yourself.

I can recommend Ocenaudio and Wavosaur as editors for DAW samples. Ocenaudio works in Linux, too. I'm using it.

People from every type of media that uses sound, seem to mention using audacity.
Podcasters, beatmakers... And its FREE.

And combined with all the free, available to anybody things you can get on the internet these days, WHAT HAPPENS, when everything you NEED, to create art, to share culture, ...is no longer restricted. By having to pay 80 bucks an hour for studio time.
Or 4000 dollars for an SP-1200.

It seems to me that the ENTIRE WORLD can move TOWARDS an economy based on BARTER, and GOOD WILL. Instead of artificially set prices, limitations, barriers or shortages.

WoW! What a huge step they take with this version!

Unfortnatly they abandoned Win 7 for some versions ago


I edit my post then Ver. 3.2.1 (latest version 202211) of Audacity works perfectly in Windows 7. The producers warn that everything might not work, but I haven't noticed anything.
