Spectral warping wavetable synth

64cf8030c5e1fe727f43c2572efafae4.gif

Warp waves in new ways
Give new life to wavetables by using Vital's spectral oscillator warping.
Spectral warping acts on a waveform's harmonics and can create drastically different shapes and timbres from a simple source.

Customize your sound
Turn your own samples into wavetables by using Vital's pitch-splice or vocode wavetable converter.
Create wavetables from scratch using the built-in wavetable editor and even generate wavetables from text!

See everything
Vital is a visual synthesizer. See what's happening behind the scenes with animated controls, filter responses, waveforms, smooth LFOs, oscilloscopes, spectrograms and more.
All animations run at 60 frames per second and are GPU optimized which leaves your CPU to do its real job: the audio processing.

Connect anything
Modulate Vital's controls with a fast, drag and drop workflow.
Vital gives you a preview of the modulation before committing so you can quickly experiment without ruining your sound.

Design sounds with powerful tools
Modulate your sound with custom LFO shapes, snappy envelopes and randomized sources like perlin noise.
Give your sound some human touch with velocity, aftertouch and MPE control modulation.

Get deep into modulation
Use stereo modulation to split the left and right channels of every modulation to get extra wide stereo effects.
Then 'remap' the modulation curve to customize the shape of every modulation connection.

Supported Operating Systems:
Windows: 10 and higher
MacOS: 10.12 and higher (Intel or Apple Silicon)
Ubuntu Linux 18.04 and above

Am I installing along side my official 1.0.7, or Uninstalling that to check this Early Access version out?
  Member 19.08.2016 14

It will kindly, but harmlessly overwrite your current installation. At least on Windows, that is.

They are still using that atrocious font that that hurt my eyes so badly
  Member 19.08.2016 14

In fact, they are. The whole interface seems a little scrambled, not sure if it's (only) the font though. Might have to do with my Windows scaling setting, but shouldn't happen.

Same here. I asked at Audiosex and it seems related to graphic card.

Hmmm, it looks a bit uneven, not completely bugged, to me. Just like the scaling isn't done properly. Tried it on three different devices and wouldn't think this is caused by the GPU.

Interesting. So What is the cause ?
  Member 19.08.2016 14

Not a developer here, but since no other interface looks like this, I would assume it is something in the software and how it handles scaling.
Edit: Taking a deeper look, it is indeed the font that looks creepy, but in a way it is not intended, I suppose. When I open the preset manager, the line width of the font seems to be highly unstable. On a 60% scaling, some lines, like the "I" in DIY, simply disappear, and others look like they have tiny dots, like the capital "O" or the "N". As if scaling - or anti-aliasing? - had gone wrong horribly.

On windows (8.1), this version (from developer's official download) just crashes (standalone, VSThost, Nanohost and Ableton). Just to inform that it seems very bugged compared to my previews rock solid instal (1.0.8).

PS: tried version1.5.1, the same, instant crash. Doesn't even open. The newer versions may not be compatible with my system anymore. Anyone using these latest versions with windows 8? I'd be thankfull to know.

update to Windows 10, problem gone. Anyway, Windows 8 was a freak.

Nothing but problems with windows 10.
A smug trash OS.

8.1 is a freak, but as close as it gets to usable without all the trendy smartmouth.

I held out on 7 for the longest time, but now happy with 10. Get the LTSC version for less bullshit.

You probably use a custom skin.

In old working version change skin to Default, then close Vital (or DAW) and install new version.

After installing you may change skin (most of old skins work but not all of them).

Had the same problem, worked for me. I'm on Win 10 indeed.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Tried your suggestion, but unfortunately it did not work. I think after the 1.5.1 update Vital became not compatible with windows 8.1 anymore.

What is new in this version from v1.5.1?

Apparently crashes on 8.1
Crashed my DAW.

AND, locks itself into a running process.
I couldn't delete the .dll,
says its still running in the background and had to reboot.

Admittedly 8.1 is not a large install base to aim your product for,
but it suggests something creaky in the code.

What does early access stand for?
Anomaly is Something Which Deviates From the Standard or Expected;
It's an Irregularity Which May be Difficult to Explain Using Existing Rules or Theory

You get it now, with all possible bugs that are included before it is released for everybody in a longer-tested and/or more stable version.

If you search for "Vital" and then choose "Advanced" you can filter by type on the right side (Software, Presets/patches, etc.)
Anyway, this one has factory patches.

This early access using Win10/ableton 11 - everything working ok so far.

to the dev: please add global oversampling lock and master vol limiter module or option (varying preset volume speakers protection). Otherwise I am enjoying this one. Thanks you!
