I have a question for everyone. A few months ago, I got some Korg Kronos soundset. I know, I know it's cool. hah Anyway, I see it needs an sfz player and I remember from all my maintenance, installing x1000 updates and so on, that Cakewalk has one. I mean on here, this machine. I fired it up it it and another I had too, which I forget now, and on it went. Cool!

Simple question of the story moral: Which is best sfx player ever made that I need to have? Even if you don't know, say what think is killer.

You may be thinking of SFZ+ which is a Cakewalk instrument coded by the same guy that did the Z3T4 plugin IIRC. Anyway, the strange thing is this doesn't load .sfz files. It only loads .sf2 soundfont files.

The best SFZ player ever made is by Plogue (the same people that do OPS7 and Bidule). It is free as well. You really don't need anything else. They took the open SFZ standard file format and made a really nice working instrument. By the way, it can convert soundfont .sf2 files to SFZ .sfz files. It works very well in my experience. The plugin is called Sforzando. It's fully sfz 2 compatible.
