Kelvin combines flexible dual-stage saturation with powerful push/pull equalization in an inspiring new way to shape sounds.

Deceptively simple to use, Kelvin offers detailed saturation models, mastering-grade performance, and vast sonic possibilities with just a few parameters. Pick your favourite combination from several transformer, tube, and diode circuits to bring tracks to life with rich harmonic coloration and warm saturation, or get creative with frequency specific distortion and beautiful analog-style tone sculpting.

Highlights
• Add rich harmonic coloration, thickness, and high-end sheen to tracks and full mixes
• Increase punch, energy and RMS with mastering-grade signal integrity
• Explore vast sonic possibilities by combining different transformer, tube, and diode circuits
• Shape saturation across frequencies for precise fine-tuning or creative sound design
• Fuse saturation with musical analog-style EQ, including classic passive Low/High bands
• Add width and dimension using the unique harmonic Spread feature

Key Features

Interactive dual-stage saturation
Kelvin is built around two flexible saturation stages which can be arranged in series, parallel, or in mid/side for unique and complex sonic interactions. You get a deep lively sound, and a huge palette of tones available just by exploring combinations of models, order, and gain staging. Dial in some low-end transformer thickness and drive it into a tube stage for a touch of high-end sweetness, or find the perfect blend between "buzzy" diode clipping and warm tube overdrive.

Uncompromising detail
With carefully tuned algorithms and high fidelity oversampling Kelvin goes from subtle coloration to hefty tone mangling without ever losing musicality. Choose from 10 extremely detailed and program-dependent saturation models, each offering a distinct sonic flavour. Combine intricate models of renowned analog gear with modern models adding pure 2nd/3rd order harmonics, or custom models integrating qualities from several sources for a sound unique to Kelvin.

Depth, dimension, and clarity
An innovative harmonic Spread feature allows you to create stereo width by introducing small variances in the harmonics generated on the left and right channel. It’s a unique and natural sounding way to add dimension to both stereo and mono sources, without affecting mono playback compatibility. The De-fuzz option reduces saturation of high frequencies and cleans up artifacts to retain clarity even when the input is driven into distortion.

Creative tonal control
Kelvin's intuitive pre/post filters give you separate control of frequency specific saturation and equalization. Push or pull frequencies into saturation without affecting tonal balance to fine-tune or radically change the saturation character, and follow-up with EQ for seamless shaping of harmonics, density, and overall tonal balance. Choose from several filters with musical curves and analog-matched magnitude/phase response, or add extra colour with classic Pultec style bands extended with continuously variable frequency controls.

How many YouTubers hype this plugin. Totally overrated. This concept has already been used in waves' abbey road saturator and is known as Andrew Schep's pultec trick. You can do it together with a better saturator plugin

Which saturator do you recommend?
Andrew even has a very good tutorial on saturation available here, but I didn't know about that trick you mention, I'll give this plugin a try.

I didn't know about that trick you mention

the trick using Pultec EQ shelf (PRE EQ) and remove all the low frequency (or high if you wish) before adding saturation and add another Pultec after (POST EQ) to add everything that been removed earlier to balance the track. It is to control the amount of saturation (or harmonic generation) for certain area only of the track.

This is a long known saturation trick that started back in the "Dolby Trick" (Exciter/Compounder) trick back in tape machine days. Andrew Scheps shared it in a video somewhere but it is not him that started it, he may have modified it but that's it.

My personal opinion:

this saturator isn't the best out there I mean it is not up there to the legendary status of Soundtoys Decapitator or PSP VIntage Warmer that has been used in Millions of tracks out there, but Kelvin is not bad at all.
It makes no sense to say you’re not good at it. It’s like saying, “I’m not good at being a monk.” You are either living as a monk or you’re not.

Hello, may I advice you to listen to the plugin a little more, or maybe the colors it propose just don't fit your tastes and usages

Because it may have been praised by hyped youtubers (I did not really catch this) but it has mainly been by a lot of ears actually !
It's all about the DSP, we of course don't have details on this, but to me (and most people I guess ?) this, compared to "classic" state ones (Decapitator, ect) just does not sound like a plugin. I mean its sounds is quite far from it. It does not have this transient blurring inherent to digital distortion / waveshapping. It makes a huge difference, to me at least ! Does not clutter and turns into slurry complex signals when used on busses or the master for exemple.
And I just found all the models gorgeous sounding.

Decapitator has this instant smile, pleasant effect because it has this very smooth and cosy feeling with the impulses he provides, with the high end roll off ect., nice harmonic distribution but when pushed a little it quite flattens and squares things badly actually.

Kelvin is CPU demanding, I admit, but worth the cycles, and aliasing is nearby M74 with this plugin so it's not ALWAYS necessary to turn it to max when working at 96k (:

Decapitator? Is this 2009? LOL. This plugin is fantastic. As someone that has a lot of the hardware this plugin is based off I can say with confidence this thing is damn close and a wonderful ITB saturator. Id encourage those on the fence to give it some more time

its really Good And Versatile. i wish the CPU usage was a bit lower but there's a lot going on in this plugin so i get why it has a higher CPU usage than most other saturator plugins. still gonna use it on every mix regardless

Holy hell, i thought this was uncrackable!? Someone in the request thread said that.

I'm absolutely thrilled about this release. I've heard a lot about it since it was developed - from engineers i trust - and sounds to me like i wont ever need another saturation plugin again. They've really nailed the hardware sound here.

Same with Unisum. Really amazing clean-yet-anolog sounding compressor. I already bought Unisum a year or so ago, if Kelvin is anywhere near that quality then i'm in for a fun time

My ears must be failing me, the only difference I could hear to the input signal was noisy unusable horrible hell distortion and increased (volume) output dB gain . Almost all knob twisting and slider tweaking were completely inaudible. UTube
