Whats with all these popups for ?
  Resident 30.01.2014 7 2167

Where do they appear?

For me clicknupload isn't working atm.

Was working perfectly before, now after clicking the download button just NOTHING happens. Doesn't matter if the pop-up-blocker is on or off. Even if I explicitly allow popups.

Without pop-up-blocker clicknupload is laden with load of bullcrap adverdtisement. I am wondering who in their right mind would ever click that shit intentionally.

Can somebody please advise on the method to load ROM's? I have a Virus TI2 and love using the hardware to control basic functions on this Emulation. But I'm stuck with one bank.

you need to only put one bank -.bin file in your vst folder where the vst file goes. then when you reopen your daw it should have that bank loaded. that is the only annoying thing. If you want to swap roms you have to change the bin file from the vst folder

Haven't used it yet, so I have no clue.

But I wouldn't necessarily expect an answer here in the comments section.

Maybe opening a topic on audiosex would be the better way to get an answer.

Or do a searchengine enquiry.

There should be plenty of information about this thing all over the place. ;)

The bank files are available for the different versions.
They can be loaded via the patch browser in the interface.
There are a lot of banks available, including the Factory Banks.

I have collected all I could find and consolidated them as there were many duplicates and some misnamed.
I renamed them with a suffix denoting the model used ( [A],[B],[C] or [ti] ) to the best I was able to determine (sometimes by loading the bank and checking, as it saved that info in the patch).

I only use the Virus C 6.5 ROM with the emulator, as the 6.6 was apparently a failed attempt to fix the ARP bug, and uses more resources.
From that I load any of the banks.

Orignally I renamed the DLLs so that I could load them all at once and compare, but i found the ROM that got loaded varied unpredictably.

So I settled on the Virus C 6.5, as the newest & most capable.
I use the DSP56300 Emulator VST3, and place the Virus C 6.5 ROM in the folder with the VST, so it loads with that Bank on the left.
But then I use the browser to load any of the banks I want.

I am going to ask Articstorm to look at my Bank collection and see if it is OK to upload.

Hi Taken, thanks for your explanations! in particular about Virus C v6.5 ROM (I precise I'm testing VST2 only, Windows).

However, at the moment you can't have many ROMs (the droplist actually doesn't work at the moment, but perhaps the developers will permit - in the future - to swap on the fly).

Sorry if my explanation was poor.
I did not mean you could have many ROMs to load, but many BANKS collected in a library.
Then , using the "Presets" button , you can browse to that library of collected banks.
Here is my library for example :
Taken's Virus Library
I renamed all the banks, tagging them in brackets for the model, etc.
I also made a folder for All the banks regardless of model.
Since several people said the TI presets often sound great even on the C.
And with the labels you can see what bank you are loading.
All the factory Banks were available and are in the topmost folder.

It is much better being able to browse the presets in the browser and see all the tags, model used, etc.
Check the .txt file for more details...

Awesome collection. Works a treat!

Might be worth mentioning in the text-file, that it's required to load a rom, and that in the current version of DSP56300 Emulator, you can only have one rom available at a time, which needs to be placed in the same location as the VST itself.

True. I used the VST2 and VST3 versions so i could load two different ROM models (Virus B 6.5 & Virus C 6.5) ROM so I could have 2 different versions.

But once I realized I could just load the factory Virus B Factory Bank in the Browser I've only been using the Virus C Rom with the VST3.

I was wondering if there is any real use for the other ROMs

Thanks for the banks. So far i had all Virus roms in separate folders like:

Virus B (4v9)
Virus B (Ver. T)
Virus Classic
Virus GmbH
Virus C (6v5)
Virus C (6v6)
Virus Rack XL (6v5)

But TBH it's still not clear to me what the differences between the C versions are. Some people seem to prefer the B hardware version, but i guess that's irrelevant when using the roms in a vst plugin. My guess would be that the Virus C (6v6) would be the best rom version to use.

From Gearspace:
Virus B/Classic has 24 voice polyphony and 6 modulation destinations in the mod matrix. I think it has 18 bit AD and 24 bit DA.

Virus C has everything the Virus B has but also 32 voice polyphony, 12 modulation destinations, a self resonating moog filter emulation, 3 band EQ (each band can be set as modulation destinations) and the UI has been changed so all the LFOs, oscillators, effects and modulation matrix are on the control surface. 18 bit AD and 24 bit DA.

Virus TI has everything the Virus C has but also has variable polyphony (claimed to be up to 80 voices but mileage varies depending on the complexity of your patches). It has the VST frontend, hypersaw oscillator, +72 wavetables and per part delay and reverb in multi mode. 24 bit AD and 24 bit DA.

Virus TI 2.0 has everything the Virus TI has and also has redone distortion curves, +25 wavetables, Graintable/format oscillators and probably a few other things I forget right now.

Everything from TI 2.0 is backwards compatible right back to Virus A except all the new stuff just isn't there of course so some patches wont sound the way they are supposed to.

Edit:
I only use the Virus C 6.5 ROM with the emulator, as the 6.6 was apparently a failed attempt to fix the ARP bug, and uses more resources. From that I load any of the banks.

I missed that, thanks for the info!

Thanks Articstorm and Taken for sharing this one and for the hours that might have gone into the coding and compillation of the soundbank. I have one question if I may: how can I create a new Category Column so I can tag the presets that I like the most as favorites so it's easier to find them later? Again, thanks a lot for the great work!

I would just save the presets you like in DAW, most easy to load too

Thanks for that incredible bank collection, Taken!!!
I wonder if it could be uploaded to audioz as a separate download so that people don't miss it, or maybe it could be included with the next upload of the emulator when it comes out on this site.

Thank you! Did you have to do anything special to make it work? When Logic tries to scan it on boot it locks up here. I have to abort the scan every time...
