Do you need an account to use this?

No you don't. Also, thing is, it wasn't that good before, nothing much better than say Reaper's stock audio browser, but I'd say this is worth using now. Take a look at the list of features at ADSR website. Big thanks to ADSR!

However, this is just a database of your samples that's easy to browse etc., but many people would prefer XLN Audio's XO because it's got interesting and unique features.

I found Reapers Audio browser very strange. Ableton browser is quite cool and when you have pre organized your samples, it just works.

But cool, i will have a look at this sample manager. But the problem will be that i have to load it ...
If you want to supply something, you can. PM is open for that.

It's great that you have a choice with this one - standalone or VST. I think standalone is actually a better choice because you can open/close it and VST-AU-AAX is always there in RAM. Well, I guess it depends on how much you use it. I don't use it much, so standalone is perfectly fine for me.

Agreed. With Ableton Link, it's not necessary to open in plugin format.

Love XO (no pun) but it's only good for one-shots i.e. percussion. Need one of these to manage loops at least.

Exactly, they complement each other well.

You don't need account, but better run it offline because it will connect to the ADSR server and display their Sample Pack collection for purchase, who knows what its doing besides that, afterall it just have access to ALL your samples. After 1 year using it, something to keep in mind:

1) you can't delete samples in its library while it is open, it will crash the app. or if you run it in the DAW, it will crash the DAW.

2) does not support REX files

3) adding a file during library scan will make the folder unavailable. it sometimes scan without you knowing it and then promt to refresh. To make that folder available, you need to remove the folder and then add it back to the library that will CLEAR ALL YOUR FAVORITES any samples you marked.
It makes no sense to say you’re not good at it. It’s like saying, “I’m not good at being a monk.” You are either living as a monk or you’re not.

wonder is adsr is any better than loopcloud ?

Different things, man. This one lists samples on your computer and LoopCloud is, well, cloud based - you download only samples that you like.

you can definitely load your own samples into loopcloud from a local disk... I used it for a couple years as my sample manager awhile ago.

Not anymore, not sure when it started but now you have to pay to add your own library to loopcloud

Seriously? Glad I dropped them a while back. Mainly bc I wasn't impressed with the sample quality (content-wise) or the pricing structure.

I use it actually since three month. Is nice!

the nice thing I found about this VSTI sampler is that it automatically adapts everything you feed to the following tempo and signature settings of the project in use in the sequencer, something that no sequencer can do as well and as fast as this one. , not even Cubase does it immediately,
there is always something to readjust .. here ADSR is very fast !!

still doesn't make any sense. why Is it giving me a "rendered" version of the sample i drag and drop???
  Resident 25.05.2015 4 56

Yes, that rendering is annoying. And that's why I don't use the plugin anymore.
  Resident 8.06.2021 694

It's for the automatic transpose, warp and on-board effects... but you should be able to turn that off iirc

Options/Sample Drag Mode/Raw or Processed[default]

Default (I'm guessing) so you get your samples in tempo of DAW.

Because, as nunziaforum said, "it automatically adapts everything you feed to the following tempo and signature settings of the project in use in the sequencer, something that no sequencer can do as well and as fast as this one. , not even Cubase does it immediately."
THAT is why, and why it makes sense.

@taken I can't explain such a simple oversight to you. Enjoy that realm

@friedkiwi I tried that before commenting. I'm still getting duplicated rendered files. You try it

I wasnt looking in the 'Rendered' folder that it sets up. I was looking at a dropped folder where I dragged the 'raw' sample to. And for me its raw if you set it to raw (and keeps the sample filename as-is) and Rendered otherwise (which renames with Rendered txt and guid).

Are you looking in your 'Rendered FIles Folder'? I see it makes a copy there if its rendered regardless of where you drag a rendered version to. Funny, I assume to apply the changes/fx, then saves that copy to wherever you are dragging, but doesnt clean up after?

Im on Win10, tested with standalone and vst, but keep a DAW out of it and test dragging to a folde.r
If you dont see the same, then a bug for them?
Also, try a new test DB setup, set raw and drag to a custom folder?

thx for the post. I prefer LoopCloud 5.3 above this one. Tested both. Like the speed, pitch detection and presets for drum hits to loop them in Loopcloud. And in 5.3 you can still load in your own sample bank. Maybe someone can post that version of Loopcloud. I can't find it anymore.

Yeah but theres no audio unit plugin for loopcloud to insert into daw like logic. Adsr wins
