September, 2017: Discontinuing support for PowerCore
Back in 2011 we ceased further development of the PowerCore platform.

Although we have been doing no official development with regard to the PowerCore software itself, for almost 7 years we have however been maintaining the PowerCore account system, and provided customer support for PowerCore users.
As we are reorganizing our server infrastructure as well as human resources, we have come to the conclusion that we cannot continue our current support of the PowerCore infrastructure.
Therefore, on December 31st 2017, we will discontinue:

• The PowerCore account system
• Customer support for PowerCore

After December 31st 2017 it will no longer be possible to log into your PowerCore account to register products, transfer licenses etc. and we will no longer be providing customer support for the platform.
There is of course nothing that prevents users from using their current PowerCore system.
TC Electronic will continue to focus on music production and mastering, and we will be providing revolutionary solutions in these fields moving forward.

Future development of the PowerCore platform has ceased
As part of a larger strategic review in early 2011, we decided to cease further development of the PowerCore product range, including hardware units as well as software for the PowerCore platform.
With the most recent software release, PowerCore is compatible with the following operating systems:

• Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
• Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
• Windows XP
• Windows Vista
• Windows 7

The PowerCore drivers support 64-bit operating systems, but note that all plug-ins are 32-bit.

Mac user use CrossOver

1. go to audio folder in the 
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/
take all the bundle of Tc Power core put it to the desktop

2. open the Keygen with crossover and patch all the files
for example 
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/PowerCore/247C\ Limiting\ Amplifier\ Mono.vst/Contents/MacOS/247C\ Limiting\ Amplifier\ Mono

Considering that these 32-bit plugins need the special hardware to run, this release have no interest for 99.99% of us.

The only way to transform this non-working (without hardware) release into a useful one could be to create a hardware emulator, but compared to the native plugins of todays, are these so special that they could deserve a so hard work?

Creating an emulator is NOT an easy task, far from that, so creating an emulator for such an old, antique hardware... is it worth the loooong effort?

The link you share have nothing to do with Powercore DSP cards, the goal of this project is an emulation of several hardware synthesizers, like Access Virus.

Powercore is never mentioned on the official site, even on the technical info page nor in the Github page.

Plus AFAIK, the Powercore special ROMs are not available. Without ROMs, no emulation.

Of course, the development you mention could be a basis for a future (very) specific fork project, who knows?

I see that some powercore are available on ebay for around $300 but how relevant is the platform today:
Does it still sound significantly better than the latest plugins we use in our DAWs?
Bottom line: is it still worth it in 2021?

The question are:
Who still hear difference between analog vs digital? Among us? Among producers, engineers, musicians? And who hears among usual listeners? Huge difference? Will I write better hit song with hardware or software?

If there is a huge difference, who will hear difference between old TC powercore digital plugins vs thousands of VST digital plugins vs stock plugins vs Nebula/Acqua impulse-based digital stuff? Paid vs free vs stock DAW plugins?

There are more and more better coded plugins, less aliasing, fatter, warmer, closer to analog, more IR based plugins, hiqher quality CPU-killing plugins, even more and better high quality gear with low price - do we hear better new songs? Better quality?

PCI Latency added to my DAW was the reason i stopped using Powercore or Creamware Hardware once CPU got very powerful around 2014 to be honest.
