Latest recording technology
Using latest recording technology, the three concert grand piano models and the vintage upright available in The Grand 3 have been sampled and edited with painstaking effort by a top sound-engineering team. The only exception being the sound of the Yamaha CP80 Electric Grand, the samples of which were recorded by Yamaha in Japan.
Equipped with high grade Neumann microphones, customized high end preamps and converters specially tuned for pianos in a large acoustic space specifically designed and built for this particular use, engineers generated the source material to highest standards.
No additional electronic equipment was used during the recordings to capture the natural sound of the acoustic pianos. Plus, two different microphone positions (close and player) available in The Grand 3 result from a 12-microphone setup used for the recordings, giving the musician the ultimate freedom to dictate the piano’s immanent sound.

It came out in 2009 so it misses a lot of features that now are a given for most pianos (half pedal, sympathetic resonance). However 20 velocity layers were no joke for the time and while the Steinway and the Yamaha are barely sufficient soundwise, the Bosendorfer and the Nordiska upright have a lovely tone. I think in some percussive style this suite shows his true colors but for solo, expressive lines there is better stuff available.

Hi guys,

working well on Windows 10 Machine without problems,
but on my iMac Mojave 10.14.6 i get the following error message when i try to add the library content into the Library Manager:

Steinberg Library Manager privileged helper has wrong version (-1.-1).
Failed to establish privileged helper!

Are there any helpful tips oder workarrounds for this problem? Seems that many user out there has the same problem...

the pluging is working, but it doesn't read its own library.

macOS Mojave + Logic Pro.

After a lot of trial and error, I was able to successful validation. However, the only Backbone does not show up in the Logic plugin slot. This symptom did not improve even after restarting the Mac and re-validating.

All other Steinberg plug-ins worked fine, and the included libraries worked fine.

With windows 7 SP1 it installs it but when I open the stand alone it closes after a second. If I open Pro Tools, it closes at the beginning when reading the pluggin.
I formatted and reinstalled everything but nothing changes.
I tried to install it on another partition with Win7 SP1 and it works on this one.
There will be some system update to do or some Visual C ++ library, it did the same thing with Alliance Pluggin and I solved it with a download update posted on Audioz.
Any of you know what I need to download?

For those who have problems with Win7 must download the microsoft update kb2670838
