Sonic Scores Overture 5.5.3.0 (x64) Incl.Patch-MPT screenshot
P2P|Win|276.68 MB
Overture was the first notation program to include MIDI data editing using a Piano Roll and continuous data editor. Overture was also the first to notation to implement VST/AU plugin support. We have always believed that not only should your scores look good, they should also sound great. After all, we create music to be heard, not seen.

Single Window InterfaceRedX
Overture’s single window interface puts powerful editing tools and symbol palettes at your fingertips, so you can spend time composing music instead of searching through menus and dialogs. Overture’s main components are contained in views and panels. You can enter notes quickly on-screen with your mouse or computer keyboard or record a MIDI performance for instant viewing. Most commands can be done with one simple command directly on the score.

Linear ViewRedX
Overture’s Linear View allows you to edit music using a single horizontal display of measures. You can also view and edit each measures’ MIDI data below the view with both views in sync.

We’re in TouchRedX
Overture’s new touch enabled features allow you to work and navigate in ways you never imagined. Get hands-on and enjoy the fun of a touch interface. Swipe to scroll your score or close panels. Tap buttons and controls just like using your mouse. Tap and drag to control sliders and scrolling, swipe to do fast page turning, and pinch to zoom in and out. All common everyday actions can now be perform on your screen with your personal touch.

64-Bit and VST 3 Support
Overture’s 64-bit support allows you take full advantage of your computer’s memory address space over 4GB and you can load new 64-bit virtual instruments that require a large memory space. You are no longer limited to the size of your score or what instruments you can load.

VST 3 support allows you to use new VST 3 instruments like Vienna Ensemble Pro 5. In this example Vienna is hosting numerous plugins on a slave machine.

Update (5.5.3) - Sep 12, 2018
changelog

Enhancements

- Exported MusicXML files now have the .musicxml extension.
- Added importing and exporting of Multi-Rests in MusicXML.
- Added importing and exporting of multi-line text.
- Improved inputting slurs when drawing them in as set in preferences.
- Lightened the grey color on muted notes, to not be confused with notes in another voice being displayed in grey.

Fixes

- Fixed crash when pasting symbols that extended past end of score like hairpins, slurs, etc.
- Made change when exporting MusicXML scores with blank measures to accommodate Dorico.
- Fixed a few beaming problems especially when pasting.
- Fixed problem dragging Hollywood Lines.
- Fixed problem with Title Page Text on blank pages.
- Fixed problem when pressing ‘end’ key, the window did not scroll enough to show the last measure.
- Fixed occasional problem when pasting, that caused beamed notes to need re-beaming. (Eg. 16ths were showing up as 8ths)
- Fixed two layout bugs that prevented staves from being dragged close to surrounding staves disobeying staff spacing layout settings.
- Fixed a bug that caused ossia staves to overlap staves, when first entered.
- Fixed a problem where auto spacing was called with Options > Auto > Space Notes not checked.
- Fixed problem where In Data View>Score View, pencil entry produces a note higher than expected.
- Fixed crash when dragging the header in panel for expression text.
- Fixed problem requiring reactivation.
- Fixed bug using keyboard shortcut ‘;’ in step input to tie selected note to previous note.
- Fixed bug when setting split point in Preferences Dialog.
- Fixed occasional crash when dragging text on blank pages.
- Fixed Explode Track bug on piano staves.
- Note: In this case the top staff is exploded into two tracks and the bottom staff is exploded into two tracks.
- If there are two voices in the track each voice is extracted onto a new track.
- If not, then it works as described in the dialog.

hidera and MPT, guys, you're freacking awesome!!! TOTALLY!!!
There are not enough words to thank you, but hey, thanks a billion for this!!!
PS: I really hope that Don Williams' work is duly recognized. This program offers much more than musical notation. I bought Finale 25 but it only works well for generating musical notation: I hate Finale's MIDI implementation, 'cos is completely outdated.

Criticisms pertinent to Sibelius' MIDI enhancement through new plugins and Makemusic Finale being severely mocked can be seen here:

The day I say goodbye to Finale!

And here:

How to change individual instrument volume in Aria Player

I really agree with everything this guy says! So, really hope that Overture, Sibelius, Notion and even Doritos can smash Finale, since
Makemusic insists on a kind of stance where we, users, must conform to the Finale's outdated MIDI editing, when other companies are just fitting themselves to the needs of their users (Zammis Four Five - from Makemusic Forum)
