yep, this is the best Marshall JCM800 preamp in vst format, check forums what other ppl say.i was sceptical. it's fucking true,sounds phenomenal, its so real its scary. i like the dumb interface design, very simple. the best marshall emu i heard is the hybrit from lepou, ik and ni are OK. axe fx2 and kemper are perfect, but hey, they're $2K.
unfortunately, CPU usage can be very high. it also rendered Live 9.0.6 unresponsive. maybe it's live, cause it works perfect in Sonar X1d, Reaper, Studio One 2.6, Sequoia12.

i hope the guy have access to other amps he's modelling or they hire him.

I still don't have tried these 'Mercuriall' Plugins within my recent
'LIVE 9' version... by cons, it's true that they're rather CPU intensive, particularly when using one of these 'Mercurial' Preamp coupled
with the 'Mercuriall Cab v3.0'. I get some kind of glitches, dropouts,... within 'Cubase 5' and 'PreSonus Studio One', but I just tested
these 'Mercuriall' Plugins within a rather old PC...
so my conclusions couldn't be so relevant!!!
I'm also agree with you that these 'Mercuriall' Plugins sound really,
really Great !
And if you load 'in front' some VST Stompboxes 'replicas'
(e.g. 'Mokafix Audio', 'TSE',... ), to get some more crunchy,
overdrived, distorted,... sounds, you'll get the Trick !

Even a 56k modem is faster then their site, what a joke!

What this is a CABINET IR not a pre-amp.

I have seen some post here where people say this is the best JCM 800 bla bla they can not have heard many JCM 800 or ANY?

As all of them sounded different.
Hence so many would mod them

You could go in to a store back then and try 5 of them and they all sounded slightly different to eachother.

There where no such thing as equally sounding Marshalls.
So which best JCM 800 is it that all the post here reffering to?

That was the reason why Eddie Van Halen came up with the 5150 amp he wanted to go in to a store anywhere in the world and say i want a 5150 and he would know it would sound like all the other 5150 amps he had.

But i guess that wasnt true either as it also depends on what voltage every country have some say they noticed that when they came to a different country with different voltage then their home country have.

The amps sounded better or worse.

I dont know if this is true as i havent been on a world tour yet and probably never will.

But so many pro guitarplayers say that so i guess it is true.

For some reason this plugin dont let me have the location of the impulse lib wherever i want so i guess i must have it on the deafult location i have forgotten where it pointed to when i first opened the plugin i am on win 7 64/bit

Was it c:\documents and setting\ etc etc or c:\programme data?
Anybody?

OK, here we go... and I'll try to help you.

Inside this 'Mercuriall Cab' folder (the downloaded one), the only file
that's neither a '.wav' file, nor a snapshot, is a 'configuration' file : 'mercuriall_cab_v3.cfg'.
If you open that file by selecting it, right-clicking with your mouse,
then select 'Open with Notepad', you'll see the following :

C:\Documents and Settings\Andrew\Application Data\Mercuriall Cab

As when you launch 'Mercuriall Cab v3.0' for the first time,
a 'Mercuriall Cab' folder is automatically created within your system,
and inside it a new 'mercuriall_cab_v3.cfg' (your own) is automatically created as well.
You must then simply try to find that location within your system,
then simply place all the content of that 'Mercuriall Cab' folder (the downloaded one) inside the newly created 'Mercuriall Cab' folder
within your system, and which content that 'mercuriall_cab_v3.cfg'
with your own info.

For example, mine is as follows (under 'Win7 Ultimate Edition' 32bit) :

C:\Users\Studio 555\AppData\Roaming\Mercuriall Cab

With that in mind, you can simply change that location afterward if desired (by writting a different location, always by editing it within 'Notepad',
then save it as is). And of course, don't forget to place all the IRs within that new location (the place where you decide to put your 'Mercuriall Cab' folder).

The trick here is TO NOT overwrite your 'mercuriall_cab_v3.cfg' (automatically created during the first launch of the Plugin) with
this provided within my download (this that indicates 'Andrew'
as the User !).

In fact to be short, all the content of the downloaded 'Mercuriall Cab' folder (Library) less the 'mercuriall_cab_v3.cfg', must to be placed
inside the newly created 'Mercuriall Cab' folder within your system.

A last tip, is to simply launch a Search for that 'mercuriall_cab_v3.cfg'
or its folder 'Mercuriall Cab' within your system. When you found it,
simply put all the content of the downloaded Folder ('Mecuriall Cab')
inside it (don't overwrite your newly created 'mercuriall_cab_v3.cfg' !!!), and the next time that you'll launch your 'Mercuriall Cab v3.0' Plugin,
you'll get all working fine...
