brilliant - thank you so much - question - what is the best skin to use with this? there isnt a 'multi skin for this one i dont think like say the MFC GE?

Just want to thank Arcadia, you have returned my excitement coming to audioz and doing my Acustica search and then my Nebula search. When R2R was posting aquas it was so fun doing my morning searches to see what new ones were up. NOW, Arcadia has me excited every morning. I love Nebula and am grabbing Neev 14 as I type. I am hoping they continue these Nebula posts, can't wait for more GE versions if they can get hold of them, like the American 16 GE and that German EQ GE that goes with SP79, and any other GE stuff they can get hold of. Alex B charges 50 bucks for almost all his libraries so not as easy on price as TimP and Cupwise. Anyway, THANK YOU THANK YOU, THANK YOU ARCADIA!!

Alex B has at least some standard Nebula 4 skins that look better than that ugly standard Nebula skin. But there is no way I know of to have settings change unless there is a multi skin by Assimov or JPN, so what I do is use Cakewalk and load up 3 or even 4 seperate instances and then just save that entire effects rack as a preset. So you don't get the multi skins but at least I can still hit one preset and get a few different Nebulas to use at once. BUT, I always burn my Nebulas in, in other words, I bounce in place because my computer would not handle running a bunch of Nebulas at once, but this is no problem especially with stuff that would also be burned in if you were using hardware. I mean, your mic pre used is burned in, using comps in your recording chain is burned in, same for eq if you use outboard eq, so burning in heavy plaugs is really no different, and you have the advantage the old guy didn't have because you can undo your burn in on computers. If the old guys used a certain compressor or pre they actually HAD to rerecord the track. Our computers allow us that wonderful "UNDO" button and we can reburn in as many times as we want. I( do basically the same with my Nebula reverbs. I simply load up a Nebula verb, then set it to all wet and no dry, then just bounce that to a track right below it and can then delete the reverb plug. Now, I have a simple reverb track right below the normal track and I have a mix button of course by just using the reverb track volume fader, I have predealy as I can just nudge the reverb track to the right, and I have Track Spacer already setup so I can even have ducking. Nebula reverbs don't have ducking or predelay either that I know of, so by doing it this way I have extra controls for my nebula reverbs and only at the cost of just playing back one audio track, AND, I can quickly just load another verb if I end up wanting to and repeat that process, so I can change my verbs as well.

There are many tips and tricks I have learned about using Nebula over the years.

is this just a re-release of his older library VBC (Vintage Blue Console) with a new name?
it's about the same size and is the same era - early 70's sea green neve.

Not subtle to me, you use it on all tracks and busses, that's what I do, I burn in my consoles to all tracks.

I have the older Blue console, this definitely sounds better, this was done way after that so Alex is using better equipment now from what I understand. I like that vintage blue console, no doubt, but I like this one better.

Arcadie, your skin link was taken down, can you post it somewhere or PM me with a link to it? I would love to have something better looking than the standard ugly N4 default skin.
