It really adds a nice "3d topography" to some premixes that I've tried, thanks a lot PiRAT!

...Interesting!

It will be wonderful when convology software can really analyze and manipulate in real time every possible parameter in this type of capture.

i also really wish NAM and Proteus could run and have models sampled at 96khz. the day that this is finally implemented you can bet these kind of captures will live all over my mixes.

You can achieve that by loading NAM into Melda;

does it oversample the capture/takes care of aliasing artifacts?

...I didn't measured it yet (FabFilter could help to "see"), but 'till now I didn't hear anything broke.

Hi. You can use 96khz sample rate for NAM with 48khz profiles. There will be internal resampling ofcourse. No resampler is perfect, there is some fluctuations in frequency response, as far as I can tell after analyzing it with PluginDoctor and BentamEQ. Also it feels like resampling adds more latency when you play it live. 96khz profiles are vary scarce at the moment, even for guitar amps, where there is thousands of profiles. 96khz profiles are completely dependent of users, and this few company's that started to make recording-mixing hardware profiles recently.

Yes, not real time yet, on stage would be a dream, but for apply in a production environment sweet spots can be reached today, obviously, through hard research & work.

Hi. There is one pioneering efort of developing software to capture hardwares whole range, if they do just that, it may be just over for every algorithmic modeling plugin.

It's called ParametricOD
"A concept plugin using NAM's parametric modeling capabilities to deliver a model of an overdrive with NAM-level accuracy across the full range of its knobs and switches."

Thanks trae_hym & PiRAT!!

How can I use this in stereo with NAM? AFAIK NAM only supports mono. Thanks!

Go into "Preferences" and it has an option to configure the Input/Output.

One very good alternative is to use Genome from Two audio engineering stéréo and many tools in it ^^
