Cinematic Strings Pro Edition 2.1 KONTAKT-MAGNETRiXX screenshot
TEAM MAGNETRiXX-AKADEMiC | 05 February 2013 | 21.1 GB
Cinematic Strings 2 is a completely redesigned and updated version of the original orchestral strings sample library. Whilst retaining the warm luscious tones produced in the world class Verbrugghen Hall of the Sydney Conservatorium, the new version features a sleek new interface and even smoother legato.

Because Cinematic Strings was created to meet the needs of working composers in today’s film, television and video game industries, our focus has been to maximise both efficiency and authenticity. With this in mind it provides a realistic mockup tool, and an inspiring instrument - which will save you from all the hassle and wasted time spent tweaking parameters, modifying CC data, or applying drastic EQ and reverb effects to emulate the sound you're after.

Have a look at the video walkthrough of the new features, by clicking the image to the above. You can purchase now, receive download links instantly and start making real music today!

Brand New Interface

Thanks to our cutting edge GUI, Cinematic Strings is incredibly easy to use. Loading and unloading articulations, assigning keyswitches, adjusting the microphone balance using the new mixer, and controlling a built-in reverb are all just a click or two away. With all these features accessible from the main GUI page, you'll have Cinematic Strings working alongside you on your latest project within minutes. Just click on the image for a detailed video walkthrough.

New Legato Engine

Real legato transitions were sampled for Cinematic Strings. Our new legato engine is designed to be more authentic and efficient, allowing the transitions to be integrated seamlessly into your melodies. This is made possible by our advanced scripting system that adjusts the dynamics and timbre automatically while you play. The new engine compensates for your playing speed automatically, so that when you play fast, shorter more natural legato transitions are triggered. This leaves you to focus on what you write, not how you write it.

New "Mix" Microphone Position

Cinematic Strings utilises three microphone positions - close, stage, and room. Mixing these three together will allow you to take advantage of the deep concert hall warmth captured in the recordings. Additionally, you can achieve a full sound while saving on computer resources by using the new “mix” microphone position. This sounds so good that we're willing to bet you'll be using this 99% of the time.

Other features and enhancements

• NEW! - Full Ensemble patches; ideal for quick sketching or filling out a track
• Controllable vibrato using a MIDI CC (user selectable)
• 4 dynamic layers for all articulations
• All common articulations sampled: Sustains (with and without vibrato), Tremolo, Trills (half and whole tone), Staccato, Pizzicato (with Bartok Snap)
• Specialised 'Runs' mode for creating realistic fast string runs
• 4 x Round Robin samples for all short notes - essential for realistic repeated notes
• Repacked using Native Instruments lossless compression algorithm to reduce per-sample footprint
• New staccatissimo samples - for when you need that extra bit of nimbleness!
• User-adjustable short note lengths
• Built-in algorithmic reverb, adjustable from main GUI page
• Intelligent controllable vibrato. The system doesn't enable vibrato samples unless you move the controller - this saves resources if you're not using this feature
• Selectable high and low playing positions - controlled via GUI control or velocity sensitive keyswitch

please don't call me a spammer. There is no reason for me to do so. I believe you what you say, but you can believe me as well. I mean, there were a few people saying Ul is down, so is it maybe dependent on the region or the country? It' surely a reason for this existing.

Well, to me telling that some server has the files down means that "files have been deleted already" which were not true (still fully alive right now, 15:01h - 07.02.2011). On the other hand i don't know what kind of msg uploaded.to (or anyother) displays when you live in a country from which you can't download, but surely it would not be "file/s have been deleted" but something like "you're not allowed to access the download links from your country" which means (at least to me) that the links are alive but you can't access to them (you can show me if i'm mistaken sending me a screenshot of the uploaded.to site saying that files have been deleted if you live in some of those "forbidden" countries).

With regard to "i believe you and you believe me", i think you'll agree with me (and this is pure philosophy tongue ) that what you're saying is a contradiction in itself because the files either are still there or they are not, there's no other posibility ... which means that is a nonsense that you can believe me when i say "they are still there" at the same time i believe you who says "they are not there" yes .

Well, forgive me if you felt hurt somehow by my words but i was talking mainly about "those few" you mention and not specially of you ... Anyway, as this is not a big deal neither for you, not for me i hope you can finish your download without any problems and that you can enjoy this wonderful lib as i can do now thanks to Sunny and TEAM MAGNETRiXX-AKADEMiC yes .

Beware, hum noises for release tails and short notes are back damn (lucky we have Kontakt 5.0.3 which can open nkx archives). My older fixed release tails for 1.5 don't work anymore.
I'll try to clean it again through noise removal software and let you know if I am successul.

Overall it's somewhat improvement over 1.5, yet several things are missing - Dynamic control and non-vibrato only articulation
Thank you for helping us help you help us all.

EtherealVoice,

It has dynamic control via modwheel , even two playing positions!! and you can send midi CC to control vibrato (maybe CC2?)

rascacio,
You can do all these with v1.5. What's missing here is modifying the dynamic curve (sorry for the confusion) and non-vibrato-only keyswitch. CC2 vibrato transitions were possible even in v1.0.
The only downfall of v1.5 was that it wasn't very stable, the play events in script get stuck sometimes when using sustain pedal. And of course no Staccatissimo articulation.
Thank you for helping us help you help us all.

fraggle83,
The k2libxxxx is a registry number specified for each library by NI, for example Akoustik Piano is k2lib0011. With such identification, the library can be then successfully activated through Service Center (in non-cracked version) or loaded in Kontakt Player. This identification is usually hidden in registry (on Windows) along with HU and JDX keys used for decrypting patches and sample pool.
Hope that helps wink

Unfortunately I couldn't find the number either. One of the reasons might be the use of nicnt file instead of _info.nkx
Thank you for helping us help you help us all.

Thanks for your clear explanation wink , i will dig into the net for further information. On the other hand i've tried to find that number on all the files related to kontakt/service center in my mac with no success. If you know the specific file were that info is stored in mac i could try to look for it and tell you that number.

Deleting XML's totally WORKED for me! Thanks ovalf!

I used Terminal to show hidden files
(http://osxdaily.com/2009/02/25/show-hidden-files-in-os-x/)

Then,

I went to Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Service Center, where I saw both Cinematic Stings.XML & Cinematic Stings 2.XML.

Deleted them.

Reopened K5, and added CS2 to Library. Perfect yes

Hey fraggle83, and all Kontakt lovers on this forum; here is a small gift to all who don't know that this software exists: a Windows software (created by a genius.. thanks) that creates NKX files. Whether you want to create a brand new library file for patches that don't have a library file, replace one that causes you problems (this is how I fixed my Cinematic strings library problem of having to reload it each time I start Kontakt 5.1), or even clean up Windows registry of old library entries:

Kontakt Library Manager 3.0

In addition to the notes on the link's page please make sure you:
1. Start it as admin (not sure but won't hurt).
2. Run it from a local drive (causes error messages when trying to update windows Registry from a network drive).
3. Use "Add in Bulk" menu option even when adding just one library as it is much easier to figure out.
4. Make sure you have .Net 4.0 or higher installed , you can download it from here : http://www.microsoft.com/net/download
4. Finally, make sure you add a wallpaper.png file to the same folder to fill in that empty grey space with a nice picture!
Enjoy!

Read the whole post because as someone said (and gave the solution after) probably your problem is caused by some .xml files you should delete before installing the lib.

Hello,
Can anyone please give the exact location path of these XML files of Cinematic Strings.xml and cinematic Strings 2.xml on PC ?
What do you guys mean by the "/Library" path as a root path ? I would appreciate a lot and it will help others too.
Thanks

abcreek,
Do you have any idea what would be the exact path of a PC ? I can't find this path "/Library" ?
