Pipes is a collection of instruments derived from a variety of cardboard tubes, aluminum spray cans, dreamcatchers, and PVC pipes. Even if the pitch of most of the sources is not stable, all instruments were manually tuned. Each instrument features from 3 to 6 Round Robin samples and up to 3 velocity layers. One of the main instruments is a sampled Wah Wah Tube (aka Vibratone): bell-like sound with a very long release and a dedicated control for overtones. There are a couple of sound designed patches derived from the original instruments along with Kontakt Multis ready to play.

Cool. Thanks. I like these kind of instruments. I have sampled everything possible in & around my house & workshop. I even recorded a cool squeaky screen door at my uncle's house.

For me the most useful aspect of instruments like this is when fleshing out a newly written song. I like to give other musicians I know & play music with CDs of my songs as crude demos. Using odd sounds seems to help the others grasp the ideas & adapt to their own styles & take it to another level. [ Synergistic ? ] When I do that with ordinary instruments they seem to strive too much to COPY instead of BE INSPIRED.
