Steven Slate Drums 3.5 EX KONTAKT-ADAGiO screenshot
Team ADAGiO | June 27 2013 | 13.48 GB
Steven Slate Drums EX Contains 10 drumkits including the famous Old Zep kit (an authentic Led Zeppelin model recorded in a stone castle) as well as 5 hybrid kits, which use multiple layers of kicks and snare to acheive highly unique sounds.

This EX drum suite is the most complete virtual drum instrument on the market, conquering all your digital drum needs with an RTAS VST AU and standalone midi plugin, instant presets for all Roland VDrum Modules, hundreds of easy to use midi grooves in our unique SONG form, and five hyrbid presets that combine multiple kicks and snares to create new and unique sounds.

EXPAND your EX
Once your drum needs expand, so can your Steven Slate Drums EX library! With 6 EX packs, you can use even more of Steven Slate's classic drum sounds for a very small price. You'll also be able to access the famous modeled kits, as well as some of the well known samples that are used every day in top albums by the world's best artists.

THE SAMPLES
At the heart of any drum library are the actual samples themselves. Steven Slate has been called the MASTER of drum sounds. In the early 2000's his original drum sample disc was in high demand amongst many top Hollywood producers and mixers. By 2006, when he publicly released his first official drum sample disc, his sounds could already be heard in many top billboard hits. Today, the airwaves are filled with Steven's samples, as they are used by top mixers such as Mike Shipley, Chris Lord Alge, Dave Way, Jeff Juliano, Jay Baumgardner, and more!

Steven has recorded only the best drums, all tuned to perfection. Every drum and cymbal has been recorded first to 2inch tape, enhancing their unique rich sound. Every drum and cymbal was recorded with multiple velocities and multiple hits per velocity to ensure the most natural recreation. Then the samples were transferred to digital via high end A/D converters at 24 bit/ 44.1khz.

The samples were then processed by Steven Slate using some of the most classic analog gear from both past and present. The result are drums that sound like you've always dreamed of, with punchy transients and smooth decays. By listening to the audio demos on the homepage, its easy to hear why many pros call Steven's samples the very best sounding digital drums available.

SSD VIRTUAL INSTRUMENT
The SSD Virtual Instrument, powered by Kontakt Player3, is a standalone or RTAS-VST-AU plugin that is easy to use and integrate into your DAW. It contains both maps for keyboard and a universal mapping for Roland Vdrums. With its custom velocity and remapping features, users can also customize their own maps.

New in version 3.5 is the new "Advanced AMG" anti machine gun mode. This new algorithm is physically modeled after real drummers playing real drums, Advanced AMG makes the drums play with an extreme amount of realism with detailed response and sensitivity.

MODELED KITS
While you'll probably find many of the drumkits on Steven Slate Drums are reminscent of drumkits you've heard from various bands over the years, thirteen kits have been authentically modeled for a sound so close, you'll think it is the real thing! The initial EX pack contains the now famous Old Zep kit, modeled after the classic sound of Led Zeppelin. Upgrading with the EX expansions can get you all of the modeled kits, including: Steely Dan, Motley Crue, Metallica, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Dream Theater. Keep in mind, these drumkits model the finalized mixed sounds that you have become familiar with, not just raw recordings of the drummer's kits. Check out the audio demos on the homepage!

ROOM MICS
The Steven Slate Drums collection contains two unique sounding sets of room mics. The first set is from a large warehouse with concrete walls. These room mics were processed with heavy doses of compression, eq, and even modulation to make a larger then life, deep, wide, expressive room sound.

The drums were then sampled in the famous NRG Recording STUDIO A, known for being one of the top drum rooms in Los Angeles. Its been home to bands like Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, Billy Joel, and more. These room mics have been left unprocessed and contain the signature depth and space from this beautiful sounding room.

Virtual Instruments vs Audio Effects

A virtual instrument works on your DAW's instrument track. Virtual instruments are used to "program" drums, piano, synths, strings, and other instruments via midi. Steven Slate Drums is a virtual instrument for drum programming/sequencing.

An audio effect goes on an insert of your audio track and processes the track in realtime. Trigger is a realtime audio effect to be used on pre-recorded drums for drum replacement.

Steven Slate Drums vs Trigger

Steven Slate Drums and Trigger are 2 separate products serving 2 very different purposes.

Trigger works on audio tracks only as a drum replacement plugin. Trigger is not a virtual instrument. Trigger's samples are in TCI format. SSD samples are not compatible with Trigger. If you record live drums and want the ability to replace/enhance your recorded kicks, snares, and toms, Trigger is what you need.

Steven Slate Drums is a virtual instrument that can be used ONLY in Kontakt Sampler or Player as a virtual instrument plugin inside your DAW of choice or in standalone mode to use with an electronic drum kit (Roland V-Drums), midi keyboard, midi drum pads, and other midi controllers. SSD uses the .nkx/.nkc sample format and only work in Kontakt Player or Sampler. If you program drums and/or want the ability to play a v-kit of your choice, SSD drums is what you need.
Who is Steven Slate Drums good for?

Musicians and producers who don't have access to live drums but need drum sounds for their productions. SSD is also great for edrummers (v-drums), finger drummers (midi drum pads), and solo musicians playing live with midi drum loops.
Who is Trigger good for?

Producers, engineers, and musicians who want to enhance or change the sounds of LIVE drum tracks (kicks, snares, toms) they have already recorded from a live drum kit.

This is fake. Someone took the 44.1k version and upsampled it to 96k to make money hosting it months ago, and Dupenamics decided to run with it.

Uploaded on Mag---.me months ago by one of Sunny's other accounts.

Original *full* release (EX is the cheaper version):

Thats a pretty odd statement! Any way you can prove this, or is it just an imagination/theory you need to tell us? .... or:

Can you prove this at all, or did some trusted friend tell you this?

"Someone took the 44.1k and changed it into a 96k, and "sold" it as something different"!

Sometimes some members in here have more business telling odd stories than inform people propper!

No shit. They downloaded this fake pack and released it themselves. They're idiots. Doesn't change the fact that someone took the original 44.1k version of the EX (which is the cheap entry level one) and upsampled it to 96k to make money from webhosts. You already made money from this last December.

Go on mage__.me and search for Slate. You'll find this there back in December. I'd post a link to it but I'm pretty sure that's not allowed. It was uploaded by iamcameran, which is another alias for Sunny.

I'm not saying that Sunny did the upsample to 96k. All I'm saying is that this release is a waste of time/effort, as someone faked it a while back and then Dynamics released it as their own, as they've been known to do that often.

Or, you can read it directly from the maker:

EX kits and add ons ARE the same exact kits as Platinum..

Now there is two ways to buy SSD.. all at once (Platinum) or in pieces (EX)

while about plugs i dont know, i never used any SS plugin, Addictive drums sounds like crap, really fake, SS drums sounds quite convincing while lacking some articulation compared to Superior drummer, wich is more complete yes, but it needs some mixing skills to get a decent usable sound, the preset are total crap.. its closer to a real drum, therefore u need to mix like a sound engineer.. and most of us are amateurs..

It's so funny to read all the comments. It really show how many who knows better than the developers themself ;) It took me 3 seconds to figure out what this release is all about.
So simple that it hurts. ;)

I'm quite confused by your comment. I'm well aware of the fact that 3.5 EX should be way smaller than it is on here. So is it only because someone up-sampled to 96khz?

im staying with Addictive drums - they are fast installed and the gui is dnam good - just need to upgrade to 1.5.4 after the devs fucked up the setup routine.

Hmm what are you looking for??
Premade one click button drums with abslolutely no editing at all??

Well if EVERYBODY is going for that then all drums will sound the same on every record..

Of course you have to eq and add compressor maybe dist reverb/delay modulation and most importent pitch them to the same key as the song..

I agree, Nothing wrong with sharing something. The real fault lies on DYNAMiCS for once again stealing from forums and not doing any research. The amount of dupe releases that they have stolen from us and SYNTHiC4TE is way too many to mention, most of you guys here do not know about them because I always do my best to have them Nuked. And am I one of the few that thinks comments should be about the share, not some pissing contest. If you don't like the share move on, but to start posting opinions on what is a better Drum kit etc etc should be in Audiosex Not here.

Doesnt all songs need mixing??
That goes for all of the drums aswell?
If it is pro or amateur who knows?

I suppose you mean mixed by a pro not in a pro studio with pro gear??

Do you think every pro become a pro just like that?
Like they poped out of a can and could mix like the best in the world??

You have to start somewhere.

Do you think that a cheap drumkit miked up in a non-pro studio can be edited so it sounds good?

Of course it can..
You say mixing skills i say try for yourself and TRUST your ear.

So how could you say if it is mixed by a pro or an amateur?.

I am old and i guess i am into that mind that take whatever you have and try to do something good with that.

And i also into the song itself it can be good even if it recorded in a homestudio with amateur musicians and they have done the best to make it sounds good

It doesnt have to be recorded in sunset studio in LA by pro musician.

I suppose you are one of those electronic dance dudes?
Only looking for the right kick sounds and could overlay 3 or more kicks to get the right kick sound..:)

Try to do that live with a real drumkit :) three or more bassdrums hooked up along with the rest of the kit and then you need three humans who kick and could keep the time in a robotic precision and never ever gets tired..

Not to mention when the dude that handle the sticks had to do the snare "maching gun fill" :))
It is like superman would have used those sticks.

And for tuning the kits to the song key..

When it comes to make music that you could do live with real instruments and a humanbeing is sitting behind a real drumkit (aka no computer or drummachine)

It is importent to tune the drums to itself as it GIVES it a flavor.

In the studio however you could tune it so it is in tune with every song

If for instance the song is in the key of E and all the drums are tuned to eb it will sound bad..

I guess you dont have the ear for those harmonic nuances

So for you it may be nonsense but for MANY it is the real deal atleast in pop rock well even in death metal..
And i say it is equally important in electronic music but you may like an out of tuned kick drum instead of a kickdruma that is in tune?

Every bloody drummer i have played with over the years have tune their drumkits (not to the every song key) but they tune them so they are (in tune with it self most of them to the key of C)

So if you then can tune it to the song key it is even better than just when the drums are just in tune with themself..

It similar to what you do with a guitar if one string is out of tune and it sounds crap tune it and it sounds good..

Addictive Drums sound like cunt lol. The snare.... EZ drummer can do a better snare lol! If you like looking at a fucking GUI as aposed to listening with your ears peoples then yeah stick with Addictive. Yup it is true, a better GUI makes the sound a lot better lol.
