Educational Comment on Activating the Permanent Mode of the DEDE Sound Library in Kontakt 8 and Adding New Libraries

A few days ago, I downloaded the DEDE Kontakt sound library, but unfortunately, it was in demo mode. I tried various methods to activate the permanent version, even testing different Kontakt versions, but the demo mode persisted. Finally, I successfully activated the full version of the DEDE library and figured out how to add new libraries to Kontakt 8. I want to share my experience, as it might help many others facing the same issue.

I’m using a Mac M2 Pro and installed the latest Kontakt version from HCISO. You can try other versions, but I recommend HCISO.

After downloading the DEDE audio library, copy it to a convenient folder (ideally where you won't need to move it later).

If you have Kontakt installed, go to the folders alongside the main Kontakt installer file and look for a directory or an installation file titled "Add Library" or "Add Library for macOS."

Run this file. If you encounter an error with an option to "Move to Trash," select "Down" instead.

Next, go to Settings on your Mac, then Privacy & Security, and scroll down to find an option regarding allowing the app to run. Here, choose "Open Anyway" to allow the Add Library program to run.

Now, using this program, select the main folder of the audio library, allowing it to automatically recognize the library.

Close the windows and open Kontakt. You should see the sound bank added to the Kontakt library. Note that if you load sounds from the File section in Kontakt, they may still be in demo mode.

Tip: With the method I shared, you can add any Sound library to Kontakt. If you select the folder containing all your libraries instead of just a specific one, it will automatically scan and add all banks in that folder to Kontakt.
