Under the hood
Boasting simplicity, KARRIEM RIGGINS DRUMS tucks a kaleidoscope of percussion into a vivid interface – beautifully designed by artist Jason Jägel. Captured with care at the iconic Studio 3 at Sunset Sound, the sounds are treated with equal creativity, having been processed through modular units, tape machines, spring reverbs, and mixed up with some of Karriem’s own secret sauce. The result? Standout sounds that encourage experimentation and are everything but mechanical.

Behind the sleeves
A multi-faceted jazz drummer and hip hop producer, Karriem has worked alongside the likes of J Dilla, Common, Madlib, Erykah Badu, Slum Village, Talib Kweli, The Roots, and many more. We sat down with the producer to dive into some of his favorite works, from iconic records that shaped hip hop, to trailblazing chart-toppers and his very own debut album.

Doesn't look like it - the minimum requirements according to the NI release notes are:

"Free KONTAKT PLAYER or KONTAKT (version 7.1.5 or higher)"

The best drum Play Series yet, hands down. It's not even close (Sorry, Empire Breaks). The sound design here along with the sequences, UI, art design... It's brilliant. Nice one, PiRAT.

Completely agree. Empire Breaks sounds quite generic compared to this one. This on the other hand sounds like the much sought-after Neo-Soul drum sounds that producers like J Dilla were after. And Karriem Riggins was the right man to make this happen.
You will not be forgotten, Olymoon.

Thats the old way, I cant get this to appear either using the Script. Weird happened to me on the Dark Scene too. Not sure what's going on with me tbh

i made it work. i have deleted native access, deleted kontakt 7 and all stuff tied to kontakt anddd performed clean kontakt 7.1.8 install. You also need to copy this library to Macintosh HD/Users/Shared + rename the folder to have shorter folder name.

Thank you for the tips/ideas! I was able to get it fully up and running as well. I didn't reinstall kontakt 7.1.8 but I did copy the library to Macintosh HD/Users/Shared + renamed the folder to have shorter name + noticed that AU opens the library properly while VST3 doesn't.

Hmm. Did all that. Still in Demo mode. Very unusual. Anyone got any other tips?

I'm unable to get this library to appear in Kontakt 7 via terminal script, even after restarting Ableton. Does anyone know of a solution for this?

See Bford post above with the working solution. (NOT the deleted K7 etc part), only the place in the directory he mentioned and shorten the folder name) Odd though, never had something like that happen. maybe cause it's play edition?
  Member 20.07.2020 328

Ok ill try that later, so you cant have it on an external drive then?

I got it to work on an external by putting the nict, nki folder and snapshots folder into users/shared. i kept all the samples on the external and loaded the instrument, searched for missing samples. works fine.

Ok sorted, did this too. So you have to search every time you open it. Is there a way fro it to remember. I guess a batch resave will just copy the sampled back

Ok yes this is a little weird- if I open a saved logic project with this library, it opens without needing to scan for missing samples. But if I create a new instance of it, Kontakt does need to relocate. Hmmm

Thanks for the heads up. I was able to get this library fully up and running using a couple of bford's tips. Unfortunately, this library sounds like completely worthless garbage and I'll probably end up deleting it.
