Cinesamples CineWinds PRO v1.3 KONTAKT screenshot
KONTAKT - 16,5 GB
CineWinds PRO is the expansion to the next-generation orchestral CineWinds CORE library. CineWinds PRO expansion fills out the remainder of the orchestral woodwind section, and also offers an eclectic choice of ethnic, Renaissance, and period wind instruments most often used in film scoring.

As with CineWinds CORE, we assembled a team of the finest musicians and crew — we found great comfort and amazing sounds at the SONY Scoring Stage, recorded and mixed by the unparalleled engineer Dennis Sands. The woodwinds in CineWinds PRO are covered with the same depth and nuance as the instruments in CineWinds CORE, and William Lyons gives us a series of ethnic woodwinds of such expressiveness and detail rarely heard in orchestral sample libraries. The PRO expansion features twice the content of the CORE library, and we hope you enjoy every bit of it.

WHAT'S NEW IN THE CINEWINDS PRO 1.3 UPDATE:
CINESAMPLES' ADAPTIVE LEGATO ENGINE
Cinesamples applied its Adaptive Legato Engine from CineStrings SOLO, Tina Guo Acoustic Cello Legato, and Viola da Gamba to the orchestral instruments in CineWinds PRO. It allows you to tailor the legato response to your own playing style, and is designed to respond musically to your performance. The engine detects your playing speed and intelligently adjusts the interval speed to match. This means you can play slow, expressive lines and fast runs in a single performance, without touching the speed dial. Additionally, the intensity parameter responds to velocity.
In the Settings Tab, the VOLUME RANGE controls how much the volume is affected by CC1. So those who use CC1 and CC11 together can keep the slider all the way down, and those who only use the mod wheel can turn it up.
Using the VEL / ATTACK function, the attack of each note responds to your velocity. Lower velocities will generate a slower attack.
QUANTIZE MODE: In any True Legato instrument, there will be some lag when playing note-to-note transitions. This is usually compensated for by moving all notes slightly to the left in the sequencer, or by using a track pre-delay. The problem with most legato libraries is that the timings of each note are inconsistent; the first note in a phrase will sound immediately, while subsequent notes will be delayed. The Quantize Mode tackles this problem by calculating the legato lag time, and applying the same delay to non-legato samples. This means you can quantize a performance, shift the MIDI to the left, and the timings of each note will be consistent.

NEW MAPPING TAB
CineWinds PRO includes a brand new mapping area styled after CineStrings SOLO that allows for greater flexibility in customizing composer workflows.

ACCENT OVERLAY
The Accent Overlay control layers an additional articulation (Marcato = Short 1/2, Staccato = Short 1/4, Spiccato = Short 1/8) over the attack of sustains. Turning on ACCENTED LEGATO adds this layer to the legato transitions.

NEW VIBRATO CONTROL
In the Mapping tab, the Vibrato fader allows for a variable crossfade speed into and out of vibrato samples. This control defaults to CC2 but can be assigned to any controller.

ENSEMBLE PATCH
The new Ensemble Patch includes the Alto Flute, English Horn, Bass Clarinet, and Contrabassoon.

CineWinds PRO is comprised of entirely new orchestral woodwind sample content, and as with CineWinds CORE, it was proudly recorded at the SONY Scoring Stage and mixed by Dennis Sands. CineWinds CORE contains the standard orchestral woodwinds — piccolo, flute, oboe, clarinet, and bassoon. For CineWinds PRO, we went beyond the essentials to bring you exceptional instruments, such as the alto flute and contrabassoon, as well as a comprehensive selection of ethnic woodwind instruments, performed by expert William Lyons, who sampled the exact instruments he played in many film scores, including The Hobbit by director Peter Jackson.

Edit, verified all the other and I got 16.52 for all.

Are you using MAC?

well... works fine..... but i think that this is "mixed" version....

why?

patches from 1-16 are v1.3 and patches 17-34 are v1.2 BUT its still better than 1.0

You need to 'ADD' it

@MusicMan2

Do you mean overwrite older version with this one?

I mean use Kontakts 'ADD Library Tool' to Add it to Kontakt.

@MusicMan2 .......

That's exacly what I did and it says library added successfully but when I tried to load any instrument it says.

'This instrument belongs to a library that is currently not installed'

Although adding the library is successful the library does not show in the list of installed programmes. It is in the list in the registry though.

I just don't get it.

You must fix xml - enter valid snpid (see it in nicht)

Thanks Talula.

The nicnt says the snpid is 627 but where do I find the relevant xml file? There is no relevant xml file in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Service Center

Wish I could help you with an easy answer... I also always use to have trouble with the CineSamples Libraries. They come with an installer exe file when you buy them, and that one is doing all the job for you and installs it right with correct registry settings etc.
So the Libraries that come here in unpacked form just with the library folder are missing those things that the installers are doing apparently, even when adding the nicnt with the addlibrary function.
Are you using Kontakt Portable maybe? In this case those libraries always cause the error you have as the virtualized environment of the portable app is missing the registry information then. It works after you add the library with the normal Kontakt. Which is kind of weird as within the portable Kontakt everything should be autarchic and not looking "outside".

Another problem I often have with the CineSamples is that Kontakt gets confused with older versions of a library that are still in the windows registry with a similar or identical name, the library view is messed up then, showing either none or double the same library.
In this case you can try to find the obsolete registry entries and delete them.

For me playing around with the "HomeCooked TinyToolz 1-6-TRACER" apps can help often, they allow locating existing snpid entries and much more. Maybe with that you can get a step further? Good luck, hope this can get you some useful hints.

Overally it would really help avoiding all those problems if we would get the DVD versions of those libraries that come with an installer. For example the same with Native Instruments. Some you can get here in this "DVD" form, also for CineSamples, but unfortunately not for their latest releases and updates.
