Hephaestus is a Greek god of blacksmiths, ARTISANS, SCULPTORS, metallurgy, fire and volcanoes. His Roman equivalent is Vulcan.
In Greek mythology, Hephaestus was the son of Zeus and Hera, the king and queen of the gods. In another version his mother Hera rejected him, because of his deformity and thrown out of Olympus to the earth contact.
Now, 'Hephaestus Sounds' is one of the few companies that can wipe samples and do a lot with little, true ARTISANS and SCULPTORS that do everything sounding very big and well done, is a company that I trusted blindfolded. I never forget their marvels:
Hephaestus Sounds Spanish Guitar just a few 58 MB
Hephaestus Sounds Grand Concert Harp only 213 MB

There are hundreds of perfect virtual tube organs today, the mainstream are the free 'Myorgan' easy to use without complications, the other is 'Hauptwerk' not so easy, but have all function that the big church organs have, the only contra is that both have no reverb.
But now Hephaestus one is for Kontakt, so I rate 10. My tips...

How good is this compared to Sonokinetic Toccata?

Toccata still the best and simplest. The releases of samples in this library are too sharp, and therefore the staccatos played are not good. Maybe one should look into envelopes but since toccata also sounds better I have no intention of doing so.
It is not what you've got; it's how you use it.

Toccata is one of the worst organ library I've ever played, and Aria's organ too. Fake reverb, fat and dirty sound, the Tutti is horrible especially on high notes, the sound seems to be sampled too far and playing fast you'll get a confusion of notes with the reverb! Italian Concert Organ is the only one (and also some Hauptwerk's organs) that gives me the feeling of a giant organ in front of me, and playing fast notes you can listen to every note clearly! It's just great and gives me goose-bumps with the headphones. I agree about the short releases, I don't know if it is a sampling issue or it's just typical on Italian organs, but setting up the reverb properly you can get great results.

Good to remember that 'Pipe Organs' are quiet different form each other, there´re 219 manufacturers in all the world, many companies already closed, from baroque to those of today organs each one has it's own caracteristics, the difference is glaring. Pipes remember me accordions, ones prefer a big full rude sound, while others prefer a Musset.
And the reverberation of each church, changes even more, it is good to remember that the church is part of the composition of the organ. A friend of mine, she has a real pipe organ in her big room, very beautiful, but lacking reverberation.

The French ones are so different from German ones, is not exactly like pianos, that all have piano sound, but each piano has a different timbre, like the timbre of wines, Pipes Organs have more different timbres, in my opinion and common sense among organists, the French Cavaillé-Coll is the best, is like having a 'Steinway&Sons'.
Although manufacturers respect the tradition timbre characteristics of the pipes, of course one was copying the other through history, metallic and woody, like the 'Cromorne pipe' that in other languages they are called: Krummhorn, Clarinet, Schalmei, Chalumeau, well, they try to obey the same tone characteristics, but are never the same.

Another point that can not miss, is the famous 'Nasard or Nazard (Quint, Fifth or Doublette) 2'2 / 3' which is the same drawbar center of all 'Hammond' organs, it is black because it is a drawbar of Mutation, than when placing a fifth it draws that 'Nasal tone', this way you can build the Oboe or Bassoon, you will notice that all 'REEDs' have this black central black Drawbar to register reeds, without it you won't have that 'woody' sound.
Back to tubes, that is, although they follow tradition in pipes constructions, the sound varies greatly from one to another.
