Does anyone actually use Cymatics stuff? Wasn't there some issue with them (notwithstanding the focus on churning out quantity instead of quality), something to do with that many of their samples aren't actually royalty free and/or that they were actually stealing samples and presets from other manufacturers?

Even if the samples are royalty free someone will use the samples quickly make a beat and it will no longer be royalty free unless you chop up the samples.

Oh good lord, there is no situation where someone who used a royalty free sample pack to make a tune would then go to the trouble of legal action to sue someone else who used the same samplepack. I bet you can't even find one situation where a samplepack company actually went to court with an artist over a sample.

it can and does happen. It may be rare, but its possible. Its best to use these as inspo only. Replace all of the parts, use the midi with your own sounds. Or completely chop and screw them beyond recognition.

I've been downloading some of their packs out of curiosity and I think nowadays it's not worth it.
Their sample packs used to be pretty good but now they're all just recycled from previous releases. There's a reason why they keep spamming those huge gigabytes of sample packs, very little effort. Their samples are technically supposed to be free but they do a lot of marketing to make sure their samples are used by the bigger names and that can generate issues with copyright mechanisms, like for example the content ID on YouTube. It's usually going to favor bigger artists

When you buy a pack like this, they send you a license along with it, but I don't know if it protects you 100% If you do buy a lot of these, try searching your computer for some of the files, you might have them already as they sell you samples from previous packs. There are so many that you will buy a pack one day not realizing you have it already.
