So you are the singer/vocalist of this pack, someone makes a hit out of it, has billions of streams and the artist/singer gets nothing? Is this possible? Not even thinking about fairness.

What's your point? There are many hundreds of packs just like this.
You're supposed to buy the pack, that's how they get their income.
And obviously the same applies to any music loops and samples as well.
Countless thousands of loop packs.
Fair or not - it's up to them if they want to make thier stuff royalty free.
Of course, they won't object if you send them more money ;)

Thanks for your clarification, I am not very familiar with royalty free yet. I always think that there is a catch somewhere.
Assuming I would produce a hit with it, then I would just have to buy this pack and then I'm fine?
The Splice problem is another reason why I mostly avoid sample packs, apart from the fact that I'd rather be able to say that it was 100% written by me.
Sorry Olymoon, i guess this is more something for the sister site ;)

Well, the idea is of course that you've already bought the pack, not got it from here.
That gives you the right to use it as you wish. Royalty free.
Almost all (not all) sample packs very specifically state that.
I don't use Splice stuff, so I don't know if they're a special case sometimes.
But if the creator has specified that it is royalty free, then that is what counts.

Say you have huge success with a track, and someone makes some kind of claim - if you own the right to the sample due to the royalty free clause, then you own it. Period.
If you can prove that you bought it.
Someone else using that same sample can NOT claim exclusive rights to it, as it was sold as royalty free to anyone who wanted to buy it.

On the other hand, if you're an artist that makes major hits, you aren't likely to be using sample packs. So really, the chances of getting into a difficult situation are minimal anyway.

Why not use sample packs? If it sounds good and fits in the track , then what the hell...
