Arnau Brichs OnsetPitch Detector (For Max For Live Devices) [FREE] screenshot
FREE | AMXD | 5.50MB
OnsetPitch Detector analyses an incoming signal, and sends out a MIDI note of the detected pitch at each detected onset or transient of a sound. It does so according to a set of parameters and algorithms.

Useful for experimental sound design (such as rattling or percussive impulses or noises), which are shorter than longer attacks.

Watch more than half of that video...still not clear on what this does exactly?

There are already plenty of pitch detectors, but they usually listen to a group of sounds (like a loop) and then average it out.

This one does a few unique things.

1. It (by default) detects the OnSet pitch. So, like a pluck sound would be better detected in pitch.
2. It then allows you to output the detected midi to another track. So, Especially useful for live performances where you would need to track the pitch of an instrument on a line-in and then output to something like a synth.
3. Lots of other options and algorithms that the nerd has programmed in (This is a joke he seems like a very nice and intelligent man).

Right, that's sort of out I assumed by the description as well: a software somewhat like Jam Origin Midi Guitar, but from the video - and especially his live performance - I didn't get that at all!?

It's not free. It costs at least a dollar. Just saying.
