Prophet64 for Commodore 64 screenshot
Commodore 64 | 1.03 MB
Prophet64 is a SID music software cartridge for the Commodore 64, created sometime in the early 2000s. The development was started in 1996 and after 8 years this version was finished and published by prophet64.com.

By using the Prophet 64 cartridge in the C64, this homecomputer converts into a monophonic synthesizer with a TB-303 style sequencer. These modern music studio is user friendly and easy to handling.

This software was normally being sold on a Cartridge. The Eprom has therefore been desoldered and dumped with a eprom reader. You should be able to re-build a Cartridge or load the software/binary into a virtual C64 machine.

Thanks a lot for the share.
I guess something like that is quite special interest, but I'm so happy about stuff like this

Same here, I missed out on Commodore altogether but it's still cool to see something like this here, really great!

I am guessing this also requires a real C64 with the digital controlled analogue SID chip? oh the cart had a second SID chip...

Or a C64 simulation software, similar to Sega Mega Drive, which has to simulate the Yamaha FM chip.

27C020 is a not a SID chip, the voices are assigned from the SID chips on the main PCB, keep in mind that a SID is per design limited to 3 voices per chip, which is why projects like SID2SID exist, where you can expand it with an extra SID chip to gain 3 more voices [total 6 voices]

It will be interesting to try this. I wonder if VICE emulator can load it, or maybe MAME?

Thank you so much for this piece of history, PiRAT!
