At the heart of this collection, we wanted to bring the full studio experience only achievable by recording live in a studio setting. We pulled all the stops, hiring the legendary United Recording Studio B equipped with a phenomenal sounding Yamaha C7 Grand Piano and Hammond B3 organ with Leslie cabinet. The centerpiece of the control room is a custom built Neve 68 input 8068/8088 console with 40 original, vintage API 550a EQ’s and 56 Neve 31102 EQ’s making the selection of sounds a one-of-a-kind offering.

Philip has toured with Kanye West, Jessie J, The-Dream, Akon, Musiq Soulchild and many other acclaimed artists. He has earned several production credits as a composer and producer as well as garnering numerous accolades such as multiple nominations for the Grammy’s, Dove and Stellar awards. Philip has also won multiple BMI “song of the year” awards as well.

All sounds are 100% royalty-free and every loop and one-shot has been meticulously tempo-synced for ease of use.

Wow! When that Black Gospel organ came on, my spirit woke up IMMEDIATELY.

Damn, I really miss the soulful music of Yesteryear and I must REALLY appear strange to these youth of today when they see me throwing the "MumbleMania" artists like Drake into the garbage, and then reaching for some Soul via Donny Hathaway, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, or Gladys Knight.

In addition to giving piano instruction, I also teach Music Theory, Computer Music Production, and Music Performance to a bunch of kids in this creative space with a workshop feel that I run. By the end of EVERY session you will INSTANTLY notice that there are two distinct WARRING factions that HATE each other.

One group is the group of kids that tries to IGNORE everything that I'm teaching them ONLY to then perk up when I show them how to "draw" some kicks and snares into a step sequencer.

And then there's the other group that wants to learn MASTERY of some instruments(OFTEN at first, JUST to gain my respect). And believe me, THESE kids wouldn't be caught DEAD "drawing in" drum beats.

I love ALL of my young students, but the ones in the second group routinely force me to make up lies to explain the tears welling in my eyes after I see the "spark" ignite in their minds. I'll be like, "Damn!! There must be a high pollen count today because my allergies are acting up again." OR "Which one of you miscreant millennials got into your mama's cheap perfume? Y'all are killin' my allergies up in here!". HaHa!!

Hearing them fall out laughing is worth more than all of the gold in the world.

P.S. And to the Eternal God of Soul who has been with us since we made our first drum in Alkebulan(ignorantly and RECENTLY known as "Africa"), there is NOTHING more abominable than playing a kick drum on ALL FOUR BEATS!!

Nothing, I repeat NOTHING destroys the possibility of realizing a soulful groove faster and more thoroughly than,
