How did I miss "Dance Rock" as a genre? I may have seen "Dance Rock" before, but I didn't realize it was its own sub-genre. It feels like a more danceable version of Post-Punk/Indie Rock or maybe Daft Punk without the Electro elements. Whatever it is, I definitely like it.

The pack is very well organized as it's essentially 20 construction kits. It's Multiformat so you get both WAV and AIFF with the download, but who cares how many electrons it takes to get whatever version you want? I can't wait to do something with this pack.

TYVM for posting.

Okay, while "Dance Rock" may be a bona fide genre, it sure isn't prevalent, at least in the current music making industry, and that's a bummer. I can't find any other packs listed as "Dance Rock," not on AudioZ and not by web searches. I can't even find one to request.

Can anyone suggest any other packs like this, or maybe other genres to look in? I'm drawn to the Electro sound, I like the dancability of these loops, and I was raised on Rock so I love that influence.

Wikipedia defines "Dance Rock":

Dance-rock is a dance-infused genre of rock music. It is a post-disco genre connected with pop rock and post-punk with fewer rhythm and blues influences. It originated in the early 1980s, following the decline in popularity of both punk and disco. Examples of early dance-rock include Gina X's "No G.D.M.", Russ Ballard's "On the Rebound", artists such as Dinosaur L, Liquid Liquid and Polyrock, and the compilation album Disco Not Disco.

Michael Campbell, in his book Popular Music in America, defines the genre as "post-punk/post-disco fusion". However, AllMusic defines "dance-rock" as 1980s and 1990s music practiced by rock musicians, influenced by Philly soul, disco and funk, fusing those styles with rock and dance. Artists like the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Duran Duran, Simple Minds, INXS, Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, the Clash, New Order and Devo belong, according to AllMusic, to this genre. Dance-rock embraces some experimental funk acts like A Certain Ratio, Gang of Four, and also mainstream musicians, for example Robert Palmer, Billy Idol and Hall & Oates.
